Posture & Pain-Relief for Beginners is a group of workouts that are a part of Essentrics Age Reversing Workouts.
The DVD menu offers the following options:
Instructions & How To's
Posture
Pain Relief
The Instructions & How To's contain the following segments:
1) How to get the most of your workout
2) How to stand correctly on your feet
3) How to stand with proper posture
4) How to do exercises when in pain
5) Neutral C
The Posture workout clocks in at 28:38. Throughout the workout, Miranda spends quite a bit of time talking and explaining the workout as she proceeds slowing through the various moves. There are two parts to this workout; a standing segment and a floor segment. In the standing segment, this particular workout includes stretches for the back and shoulders. There are a series of tai chi plies and side to side lunge stretches with overhead reaches.
The floor segment requires a mat, and optional block cushion, theraband and a donut cushion. The floor segment features sit ups, bicycles, side leg lifts and glute and hamstring stretching.
The Pain Relief workout clocks in at 33:22. Miranda tells you to stop the workout at the point you feel pain (if you do feel pain) and go back to the point of the workout just before the pain started. She emphasize several times not to work through pain.
This workout moves very slowing and there are two parts to it.
There is a standing segment and a barre segment. The standing segment is mostly about working the back, shoulder, fingers, wrist, and gentle movement. The barre segment focused on the feet, ankles, hips and hamstrings.
Miranda does not cue very well. Several times in both workouts, she moved to a different move without saying that she was doing so. While the workouts moves slowing enough that it was not a big deal, It is annoying to feel like I always have to keep my eyes on the television less I missed the transition. This really was annoying when I was actually performing a move where I could not look at the TV because of the position of the move.
Posture - 3 & 1/2 stars
Pain Relief - 3 stars
