The FIRM TransFIRM Your Body - Thoughts

Image
TransFIRM Your Body Workou t is approximately a 40 minute workout led by FIRM Master Instructor  Allie Del Rio.  Along with Allie, there are four other cast members and one cast member does show beginner modification. This workout is mostly a cardio workout with some light (4-limb) sculpting sets thrown it.   It uses the FIRM's Fanny Lifter (also known as the TransFIRMer also known as The Body Trainer) in all segments. The Breakdown: Allie gets you warm by introducing a mini combo routine using the 6 inch box.  You do this mini combination leading right and then you repeat the whole thing leading left. The next segment is all leg press.   Beginners use the 8 inch portion of the box, while all others used the box at its full height (14 inches).  The next segment is a step routine done using either the 6 inch or 8 inch portions of the box. This is followed by a 4 limb (using light weights) segment and you keep the same box height as the p...

The FIRM Calorie Killer - Review

Image
Calorie Killer was part of the Body Sculpting System 2 set of workouts. Of all the FIRM systems BSS2 is probably my favorite. Calorie Killer features Nancy Tucker (also one of my favorites) in a 39 minute workout. The workout is cardio based and it contains the FIRM's signature 4 limb movement. It uses the fanny lifter and the sculpting stick. There are two sets of tall box climbs (not my favorites) and one set Nancy has you disassemble the sculpting stick and use the twigs to work the upper body as you climb the tall box. I love the floor and step aerobics segments. 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

The FIRM Maximum Cardio Burn - Review

Image
This workout - Maximum Cardio Burn - is a 55 minute workout featuring Allie Del Rio. My biggest gripe is that of the 55 minutes only about 35 minutes of it is cardio. So in a nutshell I was wishing for more cardio. This workout is from the Body Sculpting System 2. It uses the fanny lifter and sculpting stick. The sculpting stick is a three piece unit that can be taken apart and used separated. The middle part of the stick is 4 lbs and the end parts - which are called twigs are two pounds each. Allie uses the twigs in an arm sculpting segment. I personally felt the twigs were two light for the sculpting work. My favorite part of the workout was the floor aerobics. Allie came up with some cool and high energy combination. I also like the step combos. The section that I really didn't care for was the four limb sections that used the sculpting bar. Those sections were slow and awkward. Maximum Cardio Burn also features a standing leg toning section and a very tough abdominal se...

The FIRM Cardio Sculpt - Review

Image
Cardio Sculpt From the original Body Sculpting System, Cardio Sculpt is a 55 minute workout that features Allie Del Rio as the lead. It is mostly a sculpting workout with three cardio segments placed throughout. I thought the cardio segments were rather mundane and very very basic. The first cardio set was low impact, the second was step, and the third was 4-limb movement using the step. This workout utilizes the fanny lifter to help shape and sculpt the body. The workout contains two sets of leg presses, plus the regularly used squat and lunge exercises; as well as traditional exercises for the bicep, triceps , back and chest. Cardio Sculpt does include a floor section where you are working your lower body doing shootouts, leg lifts and leg raises. There is an abdominal section also. I felt the abdominal section was a bit weak. Overall this is a solid workout. 3 stars out of 5.

The FIRM Complete Aerobic & Weight Training - Review

Image
Complete Aerobic & Weight Training is a 55 minute workout led by Emily Welsh. It is part of the Body Sculpting System 2 series of workouts. That particular series features 5 FIRM workouts. I will say as an overall system, BSS2 is probably my favorite of all the FIRM system. I really like this workout. After the warm up this workout starts with a series of challenging squat dip combos using the step. If you use a challenging weight, the first part of this workout is tough. And you can go heavy with this workout. This workout features the fanny lifter and the FIRM sculpting stick. The FIRM sculpting stick is an 8 lb bar. I didn't use it. Depending on the exercise, I either used my 12 lb body bar or 15 lb body bar. The exercises in this workout are synchronized to music. By the end of the workout, you have hit every body part. There are 3 cardio combination placed throughout the workout. I really enjoyed the cardio combos as well. I remember when I first did this workou...

The FIRM Body Sculpt Blaster - Review

Image
Body Sculpt Blaster is a 30 minute sculpting workout from The FIRM. It is led by Nancy Tucker and is part of the Body Sculpting System 1 (BSS1) system of workouts. I actually had another workout schedule but decided I wanted or needed to do a workout I was really familiar with. Plus I didn't get a lot of weight sculpting when I was in Vegas last week. So this workout fit the bill. This workout included the typical FIRM type sculpting moves although I am happy to say Nancy left off the triceps dips. The exercises are done at a steady pace and are mostly done for 8, 12, or 16 reps. You can go quite heavy in this workout and that allows you to control the intensity of the workout. I didn't find any of the exercises to be awkward even when Nancy was combining lower and upper body exercises in the same move. The music was kind of so-so. This is one of my favorite FIRM sculpting workouts. 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
