Blood Type Workout Type O Kick Boxing - Thoughts

Image
Type O Kick Boxing workout is part of the Blood Type Workout System.  The workouts in these series are design for a specific Blood Type. According to the back of the cover,  Type O's "benefit tremendously from brisk regular exercises that taxes the cardiovascular and muscular skeletal systems". This is the only workout that I bought from the system.  And I only got it because I like kickboxing workouts.  The music is up tempo techno. So the workout.  It is lead by Patricia Moreno. She is the only cast member.  The set is this cool and clean looking loft apartment - lots of white with colorful accents. The workout clocks in at around 65 minutes.  There is a warm up, 4 kickboxing segments using sand weights, a stability ball core segment, and cool down. Patricia names each of the kickboxing segments but I only caught the name of Segment 2 which is called "Excellence" and Segment 4 which was control "Self Control." Segment 1 might have been ca...

Powerstrike 3 Millennium

Image
Powerstrike 3 Millennium is approximately 56 minutes in length and features Ilaria Montagnani and Patricia Moreno as leads. Now I have workouts by both Ilaria and Patricia and I like them very much as exercise instructors. They are both very informative and precise instructors. They teach. Here in this workout, they are both very good except when they try to spar with each other. They turn and face each other to execute the moves and that just throws off the rhythm of the moves. Other than that I thought they were both excellent; and I like this workout very much. I love the music. It has lots of energy. Their style of kickboxing is about execution and through proper execution you get a good workout. My calorie burn for this workout was high; in fact it was higher than the circuit workout I did yesterday. There is lots of repetition - so expect that. Now what I didn't like about the workout - and really this is the majority of workouts with Ilaria and that is she puts push ups in ...

Patricial Moreno Dancer's Body Workout - Thoughts

Image
Do you want to take a dance class? If so Dancer's Body Workout is the workout for you. Patricia Moreno is so excellent in her teaching and instruction and she is very easy to follow. Like Dance for Weight Loss, I wouldn't expect to consistently have your heart rate up because there is a lot of stopping and watching as you are learning the moves. But I could definitely tell I was working out when I was doing the move full out and trying to hit all the positions that Patricia and the cast were hitting. Dancing with you whole body requires a lot and my muscle started fatiguing if I was repeatedly doing a move that I was not use to doing. I felt I was truly in a dance class with the DVD. The music in Dancer's Body was slightly better than Dance for Weight Loss. 3 1/2 stars out of 5

Patricia Moreno Dance For Weightloss - Review

Image
Dance for Weightloss is one of those workouts that I have had for ages and just never got around to doing. There was always some other dance workout that I would rather do, plus I have to be in the right mind set to learn a dance routine. Well learning this dance routine was very easy because of Patricia Moreno's outstanding instruction. Seriously, when it comes to truly instructing on how something is to be done, Patricia is in a class by herself; and I give her A++ marks. The problem with truly instructing effectively is it takes time to do it right. That time translates into you are constantly stopping as you try to learn the moves. Now this actually did not bother me. I am mentioning it because if you are looking for a cardio dance workout that is really going to get your heart rate up for an extended period, this is not the workout for you. If you like to dance, enjoying learning routines and putting combinations together and you just want to move your body, you may like t...

Patricia Moreno Kickbox Yoga Fusion - Review

Image
Kickbox Yoga Fusion is a DVD that contains two workouts. The full workout is 50 minutes and it also has an express workout that is 30 minutes. I did the full workout. This workout was boring. It moved slow. I kept wanting Patricia to speed up the instruction. That is not to say her instruction wasn't good. It was very precise and gave you lots of time to practice the move. But as the workout continue to move on, I caught myself snapping my fingers trying to encourage her to move it along. I feel the workouts has more of a punching emphasis than a kicking emphasis. The punching combinations weren't the "same old same old" but they were repetitive. There was also a lot of standing around. So I would classify this kickbox workout as more drill base than cardio base. Patricia is an excellent instructor. She is encouraging and precise in her cuing. She delivers her instruction in a very knowledgeable way. The music was okay. My first though...
