Michelle Dozois One on One with Michelle Be Moved Disc 3 - Thoughts

Image
Be Moved is the third disc in Michelle Dozois's One on One with Michelle series. This DVD consist of two workouts: Cardio Strength Cardio Burn These two workouts are reminiscent of Michelle's Peak 10/Challenge system. Cardio Strength clocks in at 36 minutes, 30-minute workout plus a 5 minute cool down. In this workout, Michelle takes you through three blocks. In each block you have a base/recovery period, an ascent, a climb and a peak. The ascent period is your sculpting series. The climb is your cardio and then peak is your burst. After the burst you moved into recovery and start the next block. Like her other Cardio Strength workouts, this workout does not feature a traditional warm up. Michelle uses the first block in the workout to do the workout.  Oh and each block features two rounds. So you are repeating the moves twice. Second time through, Michelle changes the lead side. Cardio Strength uses the same cool down as cardio burn. Cardio Burn clocks in at 26...

Michelle Dozois Sculpt & Define - Thoughts

Image
Sculpt & Define is a 42 minute strength workout that is part of Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge system.  This workout uses a set of heavy weights, a set of light weights as well as your own body weight to work all the major muscles in the body. Most of the exercises are compound and/or functional in nature. You are working in blocks.  Michelle will do a block of exercises before moving on to the next block.  Within the block, Michelle will start with  a basic or single move and then she layers on additional moves creating a series of move. All of the blocks are executed twice, often changing your lead side the second time through. Throughout the workout, Michelle uses a variety of tempos (slow or 1/2 time or at tempo). For the most part Michelle introduces a move at 1/2 tempo and once you have perform the exercise for a couple of reps, Michelle then speeds up the tempo and you  are doing single count. Please see the attach table for a li...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Core Crusher - Thoughts

Image
Cardio Core Crusher is a 42 minute workout. It is  a download/streaming only workout and it is a workout that is included in Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge. This workout uses a mat and it alternates cardio and core segments.  The cardio segments are relatively short, at least compared to the core segments. In this workout Michelle works the core from a variety of positions.  Michelle also follows a similar format to her other workouts in the series in that you run through each set twice through changing your lead side the second time through. During the cardio segments you use the mat as marker where you are often working around the mat or across the mat. There are a few standing core sections but for the most part you are going to the floor for the core segments. Thus, this workout contains a lot of up and down movement. Some of the core exercises are: Drop push up with rotation Plie core side reach Plank elbow row + single leg crunch + bicycl...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Strength Studio V1 - Thoughts

Image
Cardio Strength Studio V1 is one of the workouts included in the Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge system.  This workout clocks in at under 57 minutes and for the most part it follows a similar pattern as Michelle's other cardio strength workouts. I say for the most part because I did not think this workout had much of a base camp. The base camp in previous CS workouts contain recovery moves to bring the heart rate down before you ramped up again. In this workout, base camp was mostly Michelle and her team high fiving each other after completely the peak.  Then she jumps right into the ascent of the next block. This workout definitely does feature the ascent, climb and peak segments. The ascent is used as your strength segment and all of the ascents use either light or heavy set of dumbbells. The climb is your cardio in which you are jumping, hopping, and/or running.  The cardio segments contain dance, aerobic and kickboxing moves.  The peak is your high-intensity i...

Michelle Dozois Sweat & Burn - Thoughts

Image
Sweat & Burn is one of the workouts in Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge program. The actual program is 8 weeks and this iteration of the program came with 7 new workouts. A host of supplemental material such a goal setting worksheets, menu options, rotation schedule, and detox guide were also included and available to download. This is not a DVD collection. You only have the option to stream and/or download the workouts. Sweat & Burn clocks in at just under 40 minutes and it is a cardio intense based workout that alters between low and high impact moves.  After a 5 minute workout, Michelle take you through a series of cardio combinations that she breaks down into blocks and repeats 4 times through. The pattern is you do the move leading right, then leading left for twice through. Then Michelle, cuts the reps in a half and you repeat the pattern leading right and then again left for a total of four times. For the most part you are doing 2, 4, or 8 reps ...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Interval Burn Fat Blaster - Review

Image
Cardio Interval Burn Fat Blaster is the 4th Cardio Interval Burn workout in Michelle Dozois Peak 10 Workout Systems. The workout moves fast and is base on Michelle climb the mountain system. You start out a Base camp (rest-recovery) Ascent (lower part of the mountain - low intensity moves) Climb (moving toward the top of the mountain with higher intensity moves) and Peak (top of the mountain - high impact moves). The DVD menu offers the following options: Introduction Movement Review Play Full Workout (60:58) Play Express Workout (39:40) Block 1 Block 2 Block 3 Block 4 Block 5 Cool Down As I stated the workout does move fast but there is a definite pattern to the workouts that make the combos easy to pick up.Within each block and even the warm up, you perform the combo on one side and then your repeat the sequence leading on the other side. Usually starting with 8 reps per move and then breaking it down 4 and/or sometimes 2 reps before moving on or repeating the sequen...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Strength Fat Blaster - Review

Image
Cardio Strength Fat Blaster is the 5th iteration of Cardio Strength in Michelle's Peak 10 workout system. Although, Michelle does have couple of extra Cardio Strength workouts that she never release to DVD. You can find those on FitnessGlo.com. Cardio Strength Fat Blaster uses the same format the other Cardio Strength workouts. There are 5 blocks. The first block is the warm up block and does not contain a Peak Interval.  However the warm up block does use weights.  The other four blocks includes all four interval points; Base camp, Ascent, Climb and Peak. The Ascent segments  use weight. You will need two sets, a heavy and a light pair.  Most of the Ascent segments you are going to the floor for a plank/core move. The Climb is your cardio segment (no weights). The Peak segments are the high intensity high impact segments. There is a modifier that is showing less intense options.  Base camp is your recovery-rest period. If you do the full workout, it c...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Interval Burn Remix - Thoughts

Image
Cardio Interval Burn Remix is a high intensity 61 minute Peak 10 workout. The DVD Menu has the following option: Introduction Movement Review Play Full Workout Warm Up Block One Block Two Block Three Block Four Block Five Cool Down Stretch Within each block, there are two rounds.   I wish the DVD allowed you to select a round within each block but it does not have that level of chaptered detail.  Each of the two rounds are identical to each other; the only difference is that you are switching your lead (leading on the left versus the right). Each of the rounds consist of the 4 levels found in the Peak 10 Training system. They are:  Base camp, Ascent, Climb and Peak.  Overall, I really like the choreography, music, and intensity throughout the workout.  There is a good flow to this workout.  In all the blocks (except the last)  in either the ascent, climb, or peak sections, you are doing some type of burpee/plank/mountain climber mov...

Michelle Dozois Cardio Strength Remix - Thoughts

Image
Cardio Strength Remix is approximately 59 minutes long.  The workout contains five ten minutes blocks and each block consist of two rounds.  The two rounds are a repeat of each other with the only difference being the lead leg/arm/side you start with. Within each round, except for block one, there are four stages: Base camp - used for recovery Ascent - In Cardio Strength workouts, this is your weight segment Climb - Cardio Peak - High Intensity Training Drills,  usually some type of high impact jumping exercise.  There is a modifier that shows a less intense and/or low impact alternative. The DVD Menu : Introduction Movement Review Warm Up/Block One Block Two Block Three Block Four Block Five Cool Down/Stretch More on the Stages: Base camp is relatively short.  There is enough time for you to get a drink a water and maybe towel off.  Michelle starts the next group of exercises prior to base camp concluding. Although, she tells you if y...

Michelle Dozois More Cardio Strength - Thoughts

Image
More Cardio Strength is approximately 55 minutes in length. There is no warm up. It consist of 5 blocks that are about 10 minutes in length. Each block is composed of 2 rounds that are around 5 minutes. There is a cool down. This workout follows Michelle, Peak format. That format is: Base camp, Ascent, Climb and Peak. With the exception of the first block, which does not include Peak and really doesn't include a Base camp, the other 4 blocks do follow the format. In the Cardio Strength workouts (this is Michelle's third Cardio Strength Workout) the Ascent level is the strength level, and thus weights are used. Michelle does a lot of compound multi- muscles type exercises. On almost every exercise you are working both the upper and lower body and sometimes the core. The Climb is cardio level - no weights are used. The Peak level is heavy on the plyo. There is a modifier. The Peak Exercises in this workout are : Block 2 - 180 Squat Touchdown Block 3 - Side to Side Jump Sq...

Michelle Dozois More Cardio Interval Burn - Thoughts

Image
Another winner from Michelle. I am really a fan of her cardio workouts. More Cardio Interval Burn clocks in at 60 minutes, and the time flew by for me. Michelle said something about it being the last block and I was like "really?". There is a warm up, five Cardio Blocks consisting of two rounds each, and cool down. Each round consist of a series of training levels. As you proceed through the levels the intensity and movements increase. The levels are : Base camp, Ascent, Climb and Peak. Base camp is your recovery level. Ascent and Climb are where you increase the intensity. Climb is more intense than the Ascent. The most intense level is Peak. This level features a lot of plyo type movements. The Peak Exercises : Block 1 - Air Jacks Block 2 - Jump Shots Block 3 - Tuck Jumps to a Burpee Block 4 - 180 Lunge Jumps Block 5 - Quarter Eagle to Knee Slapper There is a modifier showing less intense ways to do the Peak Exercises. More Cardio Interval Burn follows the exact same...

Michelle Dozois Peak 10 Cardio Strength - Thoughts

Image
59 minutes in length, Peak 10 Cardio Strength is a cardio sculpt workout. This workout follows the same format at Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn in that you have a series (five) blocks. In this workout they are called Peak Training Blocks. Each block consist of 2 rounds that are about 5 minutes each. So you have: Base camp - rest/recovery Ascent - sculpting sets. Michelle has two pair of dumbbells (light & heavy). Climb - cardio Peak - jumps (each Peak featured some sort of jumping move). My complaint with this workout is that there is really no warm up. Michelle incorporates the warm up in the First Training Block. Quoting her, she states "the warm up is a workout". I didn't like this at all. She uses the Base camp in this block to introduce her crew and then she grabs weights and you are into the Ascent phase doing squats and functional fitness sculpting. Now, the first training block does not include a Peak phase because she states "this is the warm up" a...

Michelle Dozois Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn - Thoughts

Image
Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn is an all cardio 65 minute workout featuring Michelle Dozois. Michelle introduces what she calls Peak Cardio Blocks. There are five blocks and within each block you perform the block twice through (for a total of 2 rounds per block). Surrounding the Peak Blocks there is a warm up and a cool down. More info on the Peak Block . There are four section within the peak block. They are: Level 1 - Base camp (equivalent to rest and/or recovery) Level 2 - Ascent (mostly low impact cardio) Level 3 - Climb (intensity kicks up, lots of high impact) Level 4 - Peak (definitely high impact, lots of jumping) The workout has a definite kickbox flavor to it. Many of the moves especially in the Ascent Level are kickbox inspired. As you move from one level to the next a bell chimes letting you know you are approaching the next level. The base camp level is very brief. No more than 15 to 20 seconds. Ascent and Climb are about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes each and the Peak level is ar...
