CoffeyFit RAW Box & Pump 4, 5 & 6 Thoughts

Image
More RAW Box & Pump workout s . Far as I can tell, Kelly has a lot more Box & Pump style workouts on the RAW APP. The ones I have done are specifically titled Box & Pump.   Box & Pump 4 has a running length of around 48 minutes.  In this workout, you do an upper body strength move that is followed by a lower body strength move. You go into three boxing combination before moving into the next upper body and lower body exercise. Kelly intersperses 1-minute breaks throughout. Out of the six Box N Pump workouts I have done, probably Box N Pump 5 is my favorite. I like the tempo of the workout,  which I found to be very methodical. The format for 5 starts with boxing combo that you do on the right and then on the left.  This is followed by another boxing combo that you repeat on the right and then the left. You are repeating the combos for three sets. Boxing is followed by two compound weighted exercises performed for two se...

In this workout, Kelly works all 5 muscle groups by choosing one exercise per muscle group.  She does the exercise for three sets before moving on to the next muscle group.  The sets are timed.  You get 50 seconds to perform your reps.  After each set, there is a 15 second rest. ***See worksheet for a list of exercises. After the weight work, Kelly takes you into a 10-Minute Boxing Cardio Finisher Equipment  includes a set of weights, and a step bench that is in a incline position. Workout 2 is your Lower Spl it workout.  Kelly chooses three leg exercises and she does each of these exercises for 4 sets. Kelly Coffey-Meyer CardioFit - Thoughts

Image
30-Minute to Fitness CardoFit contains two interval based workouts.  Kelly alternates cardio segments with a weight segments. The DVD Menu Introduction Workout 1 Workout 2 Raw Bonus (StepBoxing Drills) Premixes (There are six) Credits Workout 1 is Kickboxing . In this workout, Kelly does kickboxing combinations. Typically, she starts with a single move and then add two to three components. You perform the sequence for a series of reps before trying the combination on the other side.  After the kickboxing combination, Kelly takes you into weight work with a lower body focus.  Kelly continues to alternates kickboxing combos with lower body weight work for the remainder of the workout. Love the music and vibe of this workout. Workout 2 is HiLo . In this workout, Kelly alternates HiLo cardio segments with weighted dumbbells segments. Typically you are doing two cardio combos followed by two weighted exercises. The combos and exercises do not repeat.  The music is high e...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Coffeyfit-Raw Fitness Ladder 2 - Review

Image
Fitness Ladder 2 is a 60-minute plus workout from Kelly's RAW series.  In this workout, Kelly  has your doing a series of 14 exercises back-to-back.  You get a minute break and then your repeat the exercises in reverse order.  You get another minute break and then your repeat the exercises again in the original order. All in all, you are doing three sets of each of the excises and you are doing each exercise for a minute. And yes, on some exercises, the minute got long.  Within each exercise, Kelly varies the tempo of the exercises. Some are single count, some you are doing a 3/1 count etc. Kelly uses two sets of  weights (light and heavy). Throughout the workout you will hear the timer bell go off, signaling the start and/or stop of the minute. There is a warm up and cool down but there is no menu. As soon as you put the DVD in, the DVD begins to play and goes straight into the workout after about 20 seconds.  Joining Kelly in the workout is Noelle. ...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Build & Burn Disc 3 - Review

Image
Disc 3 from KCM's Build & Burn offers the following DVD options: Intro Trim and Tone Intervals Premix Credits The Intro also appears on disc 1 and disc 2 and it is a one minute and 39 seconds in length. Trim and Tone Intervals is the workout and it clocks in at 24:35.  Kelly slows down the tempo in this workout quite a bit. You are performing most of the moves in a very control manner.  This workout alternates cardio athletic moves with weighted dumbbell moves. You are doing all moves for two sets.  Kelly does offer variation on some of the moves. There are two premixes on this DVD: Cardio Only (14:48) Dumbbells Only (15:06) Trim and Tone Intervals - 4 stars

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Build & Burn Disc 2 - Review

Image
Disc 2 of KCM's Build & Burn workout system features Lower Body Tabata and Kettle Bell Kickbox fusion. Lower Body Tabata clocks in at 26:31and uses a pair of dumbbells and a band.  There are some exercises where you use your own body weight. After the warm up, you move into the workout where you are doing each exercise for 20 seconds.   Each move is repeated for four sets.  Rest are kept to a minimum. Kettle Bell Kick Box Fusion clocks in at 26:14.   Kelly alternates kettle bell moves with kick box moves.  All moves are performed for 30 seconds and for 2 sets. On many of the moves, prior to the move starting Kelly counts you in with a 4, 3, 2, count. Throughout the workout, Kelly offers tips and modifications you can do. There are two other cast members but no one is really showing any modifications.  Super up tempo music in this one.  You can uses a dumbbell in place of a kettle bell. Disc 2 contains 10 premixes ranging in time from 1...

Kelly Coffey Meyer Athletic Conditioning Workout 1 - Thoughts

Image
Athletic Cardio Workout is workout 1 on Athletic Conditioning .   This workout is part of Kelly's Young Adult Series. Workout 1 is approximately 36 minutes.  Kelly starts with a 5 minute warm up. After the warm up, Kelly takes you through 22 one minute exercises.  And yes, the minute got long on certain exercises.  The rest between each exercise varied to me. Maybe it was around 30 seconds. In the workout, Kelly really acts as the trainer. She would start the exercise and then stop on certain exercises to check out the cast members.  There are five additional cast members all who are teenagers or young adults. Kelly uses an announcer to count you into each exercise "Get Ready in four, three, two, one". The workout is set to a pretty good soundtrack. Equipment: dumbbell and mat. I like this workout 3 & 3/4 stars

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Start Here - Thoughts

Image
My last workout for 2011 is KCM's Start Here from her 30 Minute To Fitness Series. Start Here consist of two workouts, Workout 1 (Cardio) and Workout 2 (Toning). Workout 1 is actually cardio and toning. The first half (about 12 minutes) is cardio . The second half (also about 12 minutes) is toning. I did the Workout 2 yesterday evening and Workout 1 this morning. Both workouts use the same warm up. I really like the music in the Warm Up. It had vocals and the words are about "feeling sexy". So I will start with Workout 2, since I did that workout first. So the Start Here DVD is touted as being beginner workouts. I agree with that in that the moves are basic and straight forward. There is not a lot , if any, compound multi-exercises going on. You are doing one exercise at a time. So this is the type of workout you can go really heavy if you want. There is nothing rushed about the workout. The tempo is fairly steady. I like this one. Workout 1 (Cardio). I kind o...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer TLC: Train Like A Contender

Image
I have not worked out since I did Rock Solid Abs. That has been almost two weeks ago. I have been moving and you never know how much stuff you have until you move. Although I think I burn just as much if not more calories moving. There was a lot of walking up and down the stairs moving boxes, furniture and just overall stuff. Anyway I am just now getting myself organized to actually have the time and space to do workouts. On the menu for yesterday and today - Kelly Coffey-Meyer 30 Minutes To Fitness TLC (Train Like A Contender). I broke the workouts up into its two parts. So first let's talk about Workout #1 Boxing. Actually I will get back to that in a second. Let's talk about the DVD. There are several sections on the DVD and they are: Introduction Warm-Up Quick Warm-Up Workout #1 (Boxing) Workout #2 (Conditioning) Stretch Bonus(Flip Up/Push Up) Premixes Boxing Combos Credits and the Music On/Off option. Because I was short on time for Workout #1 I did the Quick Warm-Up. T...

KCM - 30MTF Muscle Definition - Review Part 2

Image
"If this workout is a piece of cake, don't eat it." Kelly Coffey-Meyer, 30-Minutes to Fitness Muscle Definition. This has got to be one of my most favorite sayings to quote out of all the workouts that I have and from all the instructors that I have done. I reviewed this workout back on September 25th 2009. I gave it 3 stars with a caveat. I am actually going to change that star ranking to 4 stars because it really is a very good workout. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because I thought the music was just awful. I still think the music selection for the workout is awful, but I am going to try to ignore it. Also the workouts are definitely longer than 30 minutes, which also bugs me considering the title of the workout. But, other than that a great workout.

KCM Cardio Kick Step Boxing - Review Part Two

Image
I reviewed this workout back on August 14. Then I gave it 4 1/2 stars. Before I read what I wrote then I was thinking this is a 4 star workout. So fairly consistent there. I still like this workout. I wouldn't mind if Kelly made another one similiar to this.

KCM 30MTF Bootcamp - Review

Image
By far the best of the 30 Minute To Fitness workouts is the Boot Camp . Seriously, Kelly gives you two awesome workouts that are fast paced and contain a lot of variety. The workouts alternates between cardio burst and strength/functional fitness weight burst. Many of the sets contain unique moves or traditional moves done with a unique twist. My only complaint about the workout is that the sets are done in 2 minute increments and that can mean a lot of reps which sometimes translates into "enough already" or "over-repetitious". I think there were two or three times I felt like this. I think this format works well when you have two sides to work (i.e. left side, then right side) because you doing each side for a minute which kind of breaks it up, but to do the same move (and most of the time you are moving quickly) for two minutes can take on a boredom aspect. With that said, I still loved this workout. The music was fantastic and it had a very fast beat. I also li...
