Cathe Party Rockin' Step Workout 1 & Workout 2- Thoughts

Image
So I decided to review these two workouts together because I purposely waited to write the review for Workout 1 until after I had done Workout 2. I think Cathe could have called these workouts Power 7 Stepping because that "Power 7" move or the "Sculpt 7" move showed up consistently throughout both works.  Take that move out or even just the over use of the move in its many variations (i.e Power 3s, Power 15s etc)- once okay but three and four times, doing this move practically in every combo, I started to get annoyed. But going back to what I started to say, take that move out and I quite like the combos.  They were all fairly easy to learn. Cathe does use quite a bit of her previous choreography but I like the way she put the combos together. It is just different enough to make you think.  Many times I thought I knew what was coming next based on how she incorporated a move in a previous video and I would be wrong.  But by the second or third time through I ...

Christi Taylor Totally Hot Cardio - Thoughts

Image
Another 50 minute aerobic workout from Christi Taylor, Totally Hot Cardio features 7 mini combo routines. Christi teaches the first three, then gives you a perceived exertion test. She then teaches the next three. Christi tacks on one more mini combo before moving on to the cool down. Lots of modifications and variations shown in the workout. Christi starts with a basic move in which the whole cast does, as she start to add-on, two of the cast members continue to do the basic moves throughout and the other two cast members and Christi do the more complex moves. There were some challenging parts but I didn't think her combinations were terribly difficult to execute. The DVD has lots of contents . Some of which are: Bonus Warm up into Workout Move Master (breaks down the step) Behind the Scenes Bonus Abs Bonus Cardio The music has vocals. A lot of the tunes I didn't care for. I didn't think the music selection fit the high/low of the workout. It was hard for me to get ...

Insanity Week 1 Update

Image
Insanity . Some features that all the workouts have in common are the double clock, the exercise sub-titles, and the tips sub-titles. A little bit about those features - the workouts showcase a double or dual clock. One clock counts down the total time of the workout. The second clock or timer counts down the exercise interval or rest period. Love this feature. Also the workout features sub-titles that show what exercise you are doing and while you are doing a particular exercise, tips that give you helpful hints appear throughout. I also love this feature. Insanity Week 1 . The workouts for this week were the Fit Test, Cardio Abs, and Plyometric Cardio Circuit. The Fit Test is around 25:40 in length. It has a warm up in which Shaun states the moves will be use in other Insanity workouts. The moves used in the warm up are : Jog, Jumping Jacks, Heisman, 123 Side to Side, Butt Kicks, High Knees and Mummy Kicks. After the warm up, you start the Fit Test. The Fit Test contains 8 mov...
