Jari Love Get Ripped 1000 #3

Image
Get Ripped 1000 #3 is a cardio weight interval workout. The instructor for this workout is Jari Love. There are three different ways in which you can do this workout. You can do this as a complete 60-minute workout or you can do the two pre-define premixes. One premix is focused on the weight segments and one premix is focused on the cardio segments. In the 60-minute workout, there are twelve exercises.  Each exercise is followed by an active recovery move.  You repeat each exercise and active recovery for 4 sets or rounds before moving on to the next exercise grouping. The workout uses a step and heavy and light dumbbells. There are bells, subtitles,  and voiceovers that indicate where you are in the workout. The set is Jari's home (she tells us she is bringing her home into our home).  Along with Jari, there are two other cast members. Cast member Jill leads the ab section. Each of the premixes includes the warm-up and stretch. The warm-up ...

Jari Love Get Extremely Ripped! - Thoughts

Image
Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped! DVD is a compound multi-joint workout. You can divide the workout into two - approximately 30 minutes workouts or you can combine both workouts for a long 69 minute workout.  The DVD also includes an 8 minute ab workout. The music is pretty decent and the set looks almost industrial. Some cast members use a step and some do not. As with most Jari workouts expect lots of reps and there is not much rest in between the sets.  This workout does feature the 30 second countdown clock. This workout was okay but not a favorite. 3 stars

Jari Love Extremely Ripped & Chiseled - Thoughts

Image
Extremely Ripped & Chiseled is a compound and isolation exercise workout. The DVD menu offers the following options: Introduction Complete Workout (78:10) 30 Minute Workouts - Lower Body (45:20) - Upper Body (42:35) Each of the workouts includes a 6 & 1/2 minute warm up and a 5 & 1/2 minute cool down.  The warm up is quite energetic and the cool down is relaxing. I like both of these segments. The workout alternates isolation exercises with compound exercises and there are a lot of reps and multiple sets for each exercise performed.  I definitely felt the burn towards the end of some of the sets. What annoyed me is that Jari identified Workout 1 as Lower Body and Workout 2 as Upper Body.  Yet the lower body workout had quite a bit of upper body work.  However, what is excellent  is the chaptering. Each exercise is a chapter point so you can skip different segments easily if you want.  Also, there is a 30 second countdown clock that ...

Jari Love Revved to the Max - Thoughts

Image
Jari Love’s Revved to the Max consist of two 30 minute compound  weight workouts. The workout uses an optional step, dumbbells, and a mat.  In almost all exercise besides the abdominal, Jari first works the right side and then the left. Jari also came up with some funky staggered counting that felt out of sync with the exercises she was performing.  So there were a couple of moves in which I  counted to my own rhythm while performing the exercise. The set is dark.  There are overhead spotlights that are shining down on the participants.  I could see everyone just fine.  There were some cast members who were showing variations on how to perform an exercise. In the second workout, Jari turns over the teaching to Adam who leads two tracks. The music is okay.  For the most part it felt as if you were doing each rep to the beat of the music. Essentially you are performing 6 sets of each compound exercise group. The only time I felt...

Jari Love Get Ripped & Chiseled - Thoughts

Image
Get Ripped and Chiseled is a 64 minute high rep body sculpting workout. It is set up similar to Slim & Lean in that each exercise is preceded by a brief introduction. The individual introductions demonstrates the exercise you will be performing. Also it tells you the weight amount of each of the participants as well as how many reps you will perform if you do the whole track. Along with Jari, there are three other cast members who show variations/modifications of each of the exercises. Within each exercise performed, Jari alters the count of the exercise. Some of the patterns used are 4/4 2/2/ 3/1, single count and pulses. Many of the exercises featured lots of pulses. The warm up is done using a set of dumbbells. During the warm up, Jari takes you through a series of exercise that show up again as you move through the main part of the workout. During the stretch/cool down section, Jari sits in a semi-circle and she and the cast discuss their achievements in fitness. Equipment...

Jari Love Get Ripped! Slim & Lean - Thoughts

Image
Get Ripped! Slim & Lean is a 65 minute workout that focuses on resistance body sculpting exercises. Jari Love is your trainer and she takes you through a series of tracks, where each track concentrates on a particular exercise or body part. There is an introduction to each exercise. The introductions tell what the exercise is and it also shows someone demonstrating how to perform the move correctly. Once the track starts, Jari offers further tips on exercising and staying motivated. Barbell, dumbbells, mat and step are used in this workout. Along with Jari, there are three other cast members who at times show exercise modifications . There are also subtitles that pop up that tell how many reps your will perform and the weight selection of each of the cast members. I like this workout. It is no-nonsense and to the point. 4 stars

Jari Love Get Ripped! To The Core - Thoughts

Image
Get Ripped! To The Core is approximately 65 minutes in length. It is a resistance weight training workout with a focus on muscle toning. The exercises chosen are compound in nature. In almost all the exercises, you are working both the upper body and lower body at the same time. As you move through the workout, you are given a brief introduction of the exercises that appear in that section. During this introduction, you will see someone demonstrate the move, as well as an announcer that tells you what muscle groups you are working. After the introduction segment but before the workout segment begins, Jari gives you even more tips and encouragement. So there is a lot of time between the various exercises. While this gave the feeling of the workout moving slowing, I also thought it was okay because the reps are pretty high and it gave you a chance to rest before beginning the next series. The warm up is performed using weights. Along with Jari, there are three other cast members. ...

Jari Love Get Ripped!

Image
Get Ripped is an approximately 55 minute sculpting workout. It features blocks that are based on either an exercise or a muscle group. Within the block the exercises are done back to back and you are doing several reps of each exercise. Within the squat section, you do traditional squats and plie squats. In the chest section, the exercises are push ups and chest press. Back - overhead pullover Triceps - Scull crushers and lying triceps press Lunges are done in the form of dips. Shoulder section contain lateral raise and frontal raise. I like this workout. The soundtrack is pretty good. Jari is quietly motivating and the exercises move at a nice pace. Along with Jari, there are three cast members. The cast members show variation by using either a different piece of equipment or either by modifying the exercise to make it harder or easier. Equipment - club step, dumbbells, barbell, exercise ball, stability ball, and mat.

Jari Love Get Extremely Ripped! 1000 - Thoughts

Image
Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped 1000 . This one was not my favorite. I really didn't care for the cardio segments too much and the weight segments were just okay. This is an interval workout that alternates 3 minutes of cardio with 1 minute of sculpting. You can do the workouts as two separate thirty minute workouts or as one sixty minute workout. That time does not include the warm up and cool down. The warm up is additional 5 minutes and the cool down is about 6 minutes. The warm up uses a set of weights right from the start. Bicep curls, squats, lunges, lateral raises, shoulder press are some of the warm up exercises Jari performs with light weight. All the strength exercises are compound in nature - lower and upper body working together. Sometimes the format was 30 seconds on each side. Sometimes the format was the whole minute on one side - go to cardio - come back and do a minute on the other side. Cardio - with the exception of a couple of exercises, I tho...

Jari Love Get Extremely Ripped! 1000 Hardcore - Thoughts

Image
Get ready for lots of sets and lots of reps within those sets with Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped! 1000 Hardcore. The DVD gives you lots of options. If you choose the complete workout option, you are working out for about 74 minutes. The Warm up is about 7 minutes. The cool down is about 6 minutes. Jari alternates compound sculpting moves (mostly doing both an upper and lower body exercise) - with cardio intensity sets. The back of the DVD cover states that the cardio segments are 5 minutes each and the sculpting segments are 3 minutes each. I was not exaggerating when I say she does a lot of sets. For the compound sculpting work, you are doing 3 sets per side with a minimum of 16 reps of each variation. The cardio sets, you are doing 5 sets of three cycles. The three cycles are variations on a basic move. Jari shows you the basic move first during cycle 1, then she adds to it to make it more challenging for cycle 2 and for cycle 3, she makes it even more challenging. She the...

Jari Love Get Extremely Ripped! BootCamp

Image
A few months ago, a friend of mine gave me about 6, maybe 7 Jari's Love workouts. At one time, I did own a few of Jari's first group of workouts but when I was scaling back my workout collection, she went by the wayside. Clips of her newer workouts never appeal to me so I would always bypass them. When I received the workouts from my friend, I did preview them and I thought many of them look much better than how they came across in the clip. So four months later, I am adding some of them into the rotation. Starting with Get Extremely Ripped! Boot Camp - this is about a 75 minutes long workout if you do the entire workout. I did the whole workout. You can also break the workout into two 30-minute workouts or six 10 minute workouts. Along with a warm up and cool down, there are six rounds and each of the rounds contains some type of core work, strength work, and cardio work. Before each exercise, Jari offers a Ripped! Tip about that exercise. The tip is usually some typ...
