Workouts for August 2026

April 2026 Workouts

Image
April 2026 I went on a Norwegian Cruise to the Bahamas. And the last two days I have been sick.  I was planning on doing KCM 30MTF Strong & Lean workouts but that did not happen. For the rest of the month. I will do a week of Cathe's Lift, Move & Restore Functional Fitness workouts.  I will do a week of Cathe's Lift, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated workouts.  Last week will be Pilates Power Gym workouts that I have not done yet. I have interspersed some of the older Zumba workouts in.

LIft, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated! Kickbox Fusion

Image
Kickbox Fusion from Elevated! Lift, Move, & Restore 2 is a 41 minute workout. In this workout, Cathe, alternates kickbox cardio drills with kickbox combo routines. There are three cardio drills and two combo routines that you perform twice through switching lead sides. Cathe wears boxing gloves throughout except for the cool down.  The combos and drills were easy to follow.  Cathe shows modification throughout the workout, and she gives you water  breaks.    3 & 1/2 stars

Lift, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated! HiiT Fusion - Thoughts

Image
HiiT Fusio n from Elevated! Lift, Move & Restore 2 is a 29-minute cardio focus workout.  There are six rounds of HiiT action. In each round you have HiiT exercise followed by a weighted-core  exercise.  This is a short get in and get out workout that includes a warmup and cool down  The HiiT moves range from high intensity high impact to high energy low impact exercises.  Cathe does offer modification tips on some exercises.   See spreadsheet for a list of exercises. 3 & 1/4 stars

Cathe Lift, Move, & Restore Elevated Total Body

Image
Elevated Total Body is a 50 minute workout that uses a variety of compound exercises to work the total body.  Cathe uses body weight and dumbbells in the various moves.  When using dumbbells sometimes you will use only one dumbbell, and sometimes you will use two exercises.  Cathe offers weigh selection throughout and she shows modifications when appropriate. 3 & 1/2 stars

Cathe Lift, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated Lower Body

Image
Elevated Lower Body from Lift, Move, & Restore 2   Cathe has release her new series called Elevated.  It is an 11 workout series that you can purchase on DVD, download or access through her On-Demand Act. Elevated Lower Body is a 52 minute workouts. In this workout, Cathe uses a high step, dumbbells and fabric loop to work the lower body.  There is less rest between sets and Cathe explains a little less than in the LM&R Functional Lower Body workout.  Cathe does take brief water breaks throughout.  Cathe gives you a range of weights to use for each exercise; telling you a selection if you are going light or if you are going heavy. I like this workout. 3 & 3/4 stars

Cathe Glutes & Guns

Image
Glutes & Guns clocks in just under 40 minutes. The workout's primary focus is exercises that target the glutes and biceps.  The glute exercises target hamstrings and quads as well, but the upper body exercises are exclusively bicep based.  The weight is moderate and the reps are between 12 and 16 reps.  3 stars

Cathe Lift, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated! Total Body Metabolic Strength

Image
Cathe Lift, Move, & Restore 2 Elevated! Total Body Metabolic Strength is a 40 minute total body workout. In this workout, Cathe takes  you through a series of isolated, compound, and body weight movement.  This is a moderate to heavy weight workout and you are doing on average 10-reps. Cathe offers suggested weight for each of the exercises that use weights.  The warm up and cool down is about 10-minutes of the workouts combine, so the main workout is around 30-minutes. Cathe does use a set of dumbbells  in the warm up. 3 & 3/4 stars

Lift Move & Restore 2 Elevated! Lower Body Strength & Upper Body Strength Workouts

Image
Lift, Move & Restore 2 Elevated! Heavy Weight Workouts. I usually do not care for split upper body workout, but I did not mind the two in this series. There are a total of four heavy weight workouts in the LMR2 Elevated! series. Three of them are: Upper Body Strength Chest, Triceps & Shoulders   (CTS) Lower Body Strength Upper Body Strength Back, Biceps & Shoulders (BBS) Cathe offers suggested weights in all three of the workouts. Many times, I thought the pace was quite quick for a heavy weight workout. Cathe does tell you to slow down if you find that to be the case. In Chest, Triceps & Shoulders, the shoulder work is focus on the upper and front of the shoulders. In Back, Biceps & Shoulders, the shoulder work was focus on the back. A variety of equipment is used throughout. The Lower Body workout uses the loop boss band.  BBS uses a small loop band and the pull up bar.  All workouts used a ranged of dumbbells. Upper Strength CTS - 3&1/2 stars L...

Cathe Lift, Move, & Restore Functional Pilates Fusion

Image
Functional Pilates Fusion clocks in at 33 minutes. Several tools are used throughout the workout.  Cathe starts using the foam roller to help increase flexibility and to add a bit of resistance and expansion to the body. The mini-ball is added to work on coordination and increase intensity through dynamic movement. Cathe uses the fabric-loop band to add resistance during the leg floor series.   DVD Menu Full Series Overview Workout Intro Equipment Needed Play Functional Pilates Fusion Play Lower Body Foam Rolling Bonus Chapters Premixes Audio Settings I liked this workout. I felt I wanted more of the Pilates and less of the fusion. 3 & 1/2 stars

Cathe Upper Body Balance Disc Bonus

Image
Upper Body Balance Disc Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore Functional Upper Body workout clocks in at just over 20-minutes. This workout uses two disc, although Cathe does have someone show modifications using one disc. The workout requires core stability. In several of the exercises, you are either placing your hands or knees on the balance disc to perform the exercise; or you are seated on the balance disc performing the moves.   Some moves are more challenging that others.  Cathe does give you time to shake out the wrist and recover a little before moving on to the next exercise.  For each exercise, you are moving at your own pace and not necessarily at Cathe’s pace. 3 stars

Cathe Lower Body Disc Bonus

Image
Lower Body Balance Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore Functional Lower Body is a 20-minute workout.  This workout uses two disc and the STS Bar.  You can use a chair if you do not have an STS bar.  Cathe takes you through a series of standing exercises first starting with ankle mobility and then moving on to test one leg balance work.  This is a progression workout.  For each exercise, Cathe starts off with the least difficult move and then she layers on.  For example, you might start with both hands on the bar. Then, next time through one hand on the bar and one hand on the hip. Third time through both hands off the bar.  It was challenging.  3 & 3/4 stars

Cathe Restorative Yoga Bonus

Image
Restorative Yoga Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore Functional Yoga Fusion clocks in at 22:43.  Restorative yoga is about easing your way into each posture and then holding or relaxing yourself into each posture for a certain amount of deep breathing. It is about opening and expanding the body to create restore paths. Cathe utilizes two yoga blocks to aid in the comfort of each move.  You are to place the yoga block under the body part you are working making it easier to get into each posture.  Once in a posture, you are holding it for quite some time.  Cathe signifies the end of each move by telling you to take 5 more deep breaths.  It does not feel like you are doing much in this workout. At first I was going to describe it as "slow-moving" but I don't think that is accurate. The pace is unhurried but it is definitive for each move. Anyway, I like this workout more than I thought I would. 4 stars.

Cathe Anytime Mobility Bonus

Image
Anytime Mobility Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore Functional Total Body clock in at 16:37.   In Anytime Mobility, Cathe takes your through a series of body weight exercises that are designed to increase your mobility and range of motion. Cathe works in a 360 degree plane, meaning, you are doing the moves at various angles and levels (standing, seated, and lying). Cathe states that the workout is not meant to be easy and that you should work through each area as best you can.  I guess that is why I like some moves better than others. But overall, the workout was okay. 3 stars

Cathe Lower Body Foam Rolling Bonus

Image
Lower Body Foam Rolling Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore's Functional Pilates Fusion clocks in at just under 18-minutes.   Cathe starts the workout using the foam roller to massage and warm up the lower body. She mostly does this by rolling various body parts across and on the foam roller. After the warm up, Cathe uses the foam roller as a support prop to work the lower body. There are standing and floor based exercises. The rep count varied by the exercise.   There is a brief workout at the end. A mat and foam roller are used in this workout. I could hear the music more in this workout than I could in the Upper Body workout. I did these two workouts back to back which is why I noticed.      I thought parts of this workout challenging. I could see me doing this one again. 3 & 3/4 stars

Cathe Upper Body Foam Rolling Bonus

Image
Upper Body Foam Rolling Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore's Functional Barre Fusion workout clocks in at just over fifteen minutes.   Cathe starts this workouts by using the foam roller to massage and warm up the different upper body muscle groups.  You are doing about four reps per exercise move in the warm up.  After the warm up, she takes you through a mini workout using the foam roller (sometimes as a prop and other times as resistance).  On average, you are doing 8 reps per exercises in the mini workout.    The workout concludes with a super quick stretch. Along with Cathe, there are 4 other cast members.  Along with the foam roller, a mat is also used.  The music in this workout seemed very faint.   The workout was just okay for me. I am not sure how often I will do this one.   3 stars

Cathe Functional Core Level 2 Bonus

Image
Functional Core Level 2 Bonus from Lift, Move, & Restore's Functional Core Fusion DVD clocks in at around 11-minutes.  There are six exercises in this bonus workout. Some of the exercise are single sided (you perform on the left and then on the right). The workout uses a mat, a smaller core ball and the larger stability ball. Cathe gives you breaks between each exercise. Nothing is really hurried.  There is no warm up nor cool down.  Cathe either describes and/or demonstrates each exercise prior to doing the move. Along with Cathe, there are four other castmates. I really like this short workout. 4 stars
