Michelle Dozois Cardio Strength Studio V1 - Thoughts

Cardio Strength Studio V1 is one of the workouts included in the Peak 10 Fit Body Challenge system.  This workout clocks in at under 57 minutes and for the most part it follows a similar pattern as Michelle's other cardio strength workouts.
I say for the most part because I did not think this workout had much of a base camp.
The base camp in previous CS workouts contain recovery moves to bring the heart rate down before you ramped up again. In this workout, base camp was mostly Michelle and her team high fiving each other after completely the peak.  Then she jumps right into the ascent of the next block.
This workout definitely does feature the ascent, climb and peak segments.

The ascent is used as your strength segment and all of the ascents use either light or heavy set of dumbbells. The climb is your cardio in which you are jumping, hopping, and/or running.  The cardio segments contain dance, aerobic and kickboxing moves.  The peak is your high-intensity interval move and it is a relatively short segment. Each peak is, maybe, 30 seconds in length.

These workouts (the studio version) do not contain the countdown clock and I missed that. Michelle does include the bell sounds to let your know when your are coming to the end of a segment but I definitely miss seeing the clock in the lower left corner.

You jump right into the workout with block 1. Block 1 includes the warm up, but it does not include a peak segment.  Block 1 contains floor work as well and uses heavy weights.

Block 2 uses heavy weights, contains floor work and your peak move is tuck jumps.
Block 3 uses light weights, contains floor work and your peak move is pencil to straddle.
Block 4 uses heavy weights, contains no floor work and your peak move is ski jumps.
Block 5 uses light weights, contains floor work and your peak move is touchdown to diamond jack.

This is a super fast paced workout. The tempo in all the segments move quite quickly. There is a modifier showing you less intense options.
This workout also comes with a movement breakdown that is around 4 minute (it is a separate download). In the movement breakdown, Michelle demonstrates some of the more complex moves you will find during the workout.

3 & 1/2 stars
