Amy Dixon Breathless Body - Review
Breathless Body stars Amy Dixon and it is around a 55 minute tabata style workout.
You repeat one drill eight times before moving on to the next drill. You do 20 seconds worth of work and then you get a 10 second rest. Each drill takes 4 minutes to complete. You get about minute of rest between drills. Amy is using this time to demonstrate the next exercise.
For each exercise, Amy gives you three levels or alternatives for each exercise. She and her cast mates show each exercise level variation before performing the exercise. One cast member does a beginner variation. One cast member does the advanced variation and Amy does the intermediate variations.
There are a total of 8 exercises (drills) plus a warm up and cool down. The warm up is around 4 & 1/2 minutes and the cool down is around 4 minutes.
The DVD menu offers the following:
Play All
Intro
Warm-up
Power Jacks
Speed Skaters
Athletic Beach Volleyball
Hot Feet
Core Kicks
Ole Lunges
Boxer Jumps
Pogo Jumps
Cool Down & Stretch
I found this work out on the repetitive side. Sometimes I do not mind repetition. In this workout, I did. To change it up a bit I would vary the levels within each drill by alternating the beginner, intermediate and advance version of the exercise. A couple of times, I came up with my own variation. I would have loved if this workout had a clock that counted down the 20 seconds and 10 seconds intervals.
