Kelly Coffey-Meyer Coffeyfit RAW Total Body Timesaver Sculpt

Image
Total Body Timesaver Sculpt features Kelly Coffey-Meyer delivering five timesaver workouts. 'Sculpt' is part of a two disc series with the other disc being "Strength'. DVD Menu Warm up  Cardio Box & Tone  Shadow Boxing Intervals Abdominals The warm up on this DVD is the same as the warm up on the 'Strength' DVD.  The warm up is about 7 minutes which is a bit long for a Kelly warm up.  Kelly is the only participant in the warm up. Cardio is around an 18-minute workout.  Along with Kelly, there are two other participants.  Kelly takes you through a series of hi-low moves. You do each move for a minute. Box & Tone is the longest of the timesaver workouts, clocking in at around 20 minutes, but Kelly does an intro for the 1st minute.   This workout uses lightweights. Each move is performed for 45 seconds.  Kelly alternates upper body boxing drills with lower body toning moves.  The exercises are performed twice through. The second ...

Kelly Coffey Meyer Shape Up - Review

Image
30 Minute To Fitness Shape Up features Kelly going solo again.  Kelly deliver two tabata style workouts in which you work for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. Kelly alternates cardio exercises with weight exercises and you are doing each exercise for 8 rounds. Depending on the exercise, the 20 seconds goes by quickly or seems to take forever. Of course, I wished that Kelly included a countdown timer in the corner, but she doesn’t.  What she does do is provide voice cues within the music.  A guys voice comes on and says something to the following “ round 5  in 4, 3, 2, 1 ”  So you knew when to go. I thought this a nice feature. I also wish Kelly had include an inset (picture in picture) that demonstrated the next or upcoming move.  She did this for her 30 MTF Kickboxing workout.  As I was doing this workout, I felt this particular format could have used it. Kelly uses a step but tells you, you don’t have to. She  also (as typical) ...

Kelly Coffey Meyer Trim Down - Thoughts

Image
Kelly's latest 30 Minutes To Fitness workout is Trim Down .  Trim Down contains two workouts and each is a combination of boxing drills and dumbbell exercises.  It alternates dumbbell exercises with cardio boxing drills. The DVD menu gives you the following options: Introduction Workout One Workout Two Premixes Credits There is also a music on/off option Workouts One and Two share the warm up, but they each have their own cool down.    I created a worksheet only for the dumbbell exercises. This workout has the following premixes : Boxing Drills - Both Workouts 31 Weight Work Drills - Both Workouts 29 Combined Workouts 54 Kelly's Favorite Mix 20 Mixed Trim Down #1 30 Mixed Trim Down #2 32 I have done two of the premixes which are the Boxing Drills @ 31 minutes and the Combine workouts @57 minutes.  The DVD states the Combine Premix is only 54 minutes but it is really 57 minutes. Kelly Coffey Meyer Your Healthy Back - Thoughts

Image
Your Healthy Back is a specialty workout that is designed to increase the strength and flexibility of your back. The workout is right at 30 minutes.  During this 30 minutes, Kelly takes your through a warm up, about 12 exercises, and a cool down. For each of the exercises you are doing at least two sets for each lead side.  On some exercise, Kelly will alternate the moves for one set instead of doing a second set that concentrates on each side. The exercises Static lunge Airplane - There is a picture in picture (pnp)modification shown Side Leg Lift into Squat -  (pnp) modification shown Caterpillar - (pnp) Supermans Plank hold Side plank into  hip rotation (pnp) Bridge single leg thread under (pnp)  This was my favorite exercise. Kelly Coffey Meyers Total Body Kickbox - Thoughts

Image
Total Body Kickbox contains two 30 minute workouts.  Each workout is self contain in that they each have their own warm up and cool down.  Sometimes Kelly reuses or shares the warm up and cool down material  between the two workouts, but this is not the case with these workouts. The DVD Breakdown is as follows : Introduction Workout # 1 - Cardio Kickboxing Workout #2 - Kickbox Sculpting Combos Premixes Credits Music on/off option. Workout 1 is a fast pace, up tempo workout.  It is heavy on the punches but light on the kicking. During the warm up, Kelly previews several of the moves that appear in the combos.   There are seven combos but the combos are short.  Most of the combos are done on the left for a set of reps and then the right side or vice versa.  In a couple of the combos, Kelly alternates the sides.  I like this workout.  I just wished it had more kicking. Workout 2 is done at a slower pace and Kelly uses a set...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Plateau Busters - Thoughts

Image
30 Minutes To Fitness Plateau Buster is a weight plus cardio workout. The DVD contains two workouts.  Workout 1 is 28 minutes and workout 2 is 25 minutes.  Both workouts share the same warm up. The main part of the workout contains back to back compound sculpting moves followed by a cardio break segment.  The cardio contains power moves that are explosive burst followed by drill base intensity moves.  For instance, Kelly will start by doing a series of Squat Straddle Jumps (the power moves) followed by high reps of jumping jacks. All the compounding sculpting moves works both the upper and lower body simultaneously.  Kelly runs through a series of moves and then she goes back and repeats all the sets.  So you are doing things two times through.  Also you are doing each exercise for 12 reps. There is a beginner modifier. Also on the DVD is a 9 minute stretch. And 8 premixes that range in time from 21 minutes to 45 minutes. Both workou...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Cardio Quick Fix - Thoughts

Image
Cardio Quick Fix is part of Kelly Coffey-Meyer 30-Minutes To Fitness series of workouts. With Cardio Quick Fix, Kelly gives you two (approximately 30 minute) all cardio workouts. Workout 1 is steady state and clocks in at about 25 minutes. Kelly breaks up this workout into two combos and in each combo you are doing about 4 to 5 different moves. Kelly teaches the moves in a layered approach so there is a bit of repetition. Workout 2 is a bit of an interval drill base (hi/lo) workout and clocks in at about 29 minutes. Some of the exercise are squats, into pop squats, low jacks into plyo jacks, side steps into skaters, march into high knee jog. Both workouts share the same warm up (about 4 minutes) and cool down (about 2 minutes). Although in workout two, I felt Kelly added an additional warm up set.  I like both workouts well enough. They are both very simple workouts with simple moves. You really are driving you own intensity with these workouts. With workout 1, my bodybugg ...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Your Best Body - Thoughts

Image
30 Minutes To Fitness Your Best Body is a muscle endurance sculpting workout. The Main Menu of the DVD looks like this: Introduction Warm-Up Workout One Workout Two Yoga/Stretch Premixes Chapters Credits The reason I tend to post what the DVD menu looks like with Kelly's workouts is because vary rarely can you just push play. There is no "Play All". You need to select the warm up and after the warm up the DVD takes you back to the menu where you can select Workout One or Two. So there is a bit of choppiness with it. When you combine the warm up, one of the workouts and the yoga/stretch segment which serves as the cool down, the workouts are each over 40 minutes on their own An extra 10 minutes is too long for a workout that is suppose to be 30-Minutes. I have gripe about this before so I won't do it here. The Workouts: Both workouts are very similar to each other. There are five rounds. In each of the five rounds you work an upper body muscle group, the legs, ...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Step Boxing - Thoughts

Image
30 Minutes To Fitness Step Boxing is a Kelly Coffey Meyer workout. The main part contains two Step Boxing workouts. Workout One is about 32 minutes and Workout Two is about 33 minutes. The main menu on the DVD contains the following sections: Introduction Workout One Workout Two Stretch Premixes Chapters Quick Fix Tutorial Credits This DVD also has a ton of premixes giving you lots of options. The premixes are: Workout One Plus Extra Drills Workout Two Plus Extra Drills Workout One Plus Extra Dumbbell Drills Workout Two Plus Extra Dumbbell Drills Kickboxing Drills Only (No Step) Dumbbell Drills Only (no Step) Kickboxing and Dumbbell Drills Kelly's Favorite Compilation Workout One & Two I have done both workout one and workout two each of which has its own warm up. Today, I completed the Premix that combine both workouts (Workout One & Two Premix). The only difference between this premix and doing the workouts separately is the premix did not include the warm up for Worko...

Kelly Coffey-Meyer Start Here - Thoughts

Image
My last workout for 2011 is KCM's Start Here from her 30 Minute To Fitness Series. Start Here consist of two workouts, Workout 1 (Cardio) and Workout 2 (Toning). Workout 1 is actually cardio and toning. The first half (about 12 minutes) is cardio . The second half (also about 12 minutes) is toning. I did the Workout 2 yesterday evening and Workout 1 this morning. Both workouts use the same warm up. I really like the music in the Warm Up. It had vocals and the words are about "feeling sexy". So I will start with Workout 2, since I did that workout first. So the Start Here DVD is touted as being beginner workouts. I agree with that in that the moves are basic and straight forward. There is not a lot , if any, compound multi-exercises going on. You are doing one exercise at a time. So this is the type of workout you can go really heavy if you want. There is nothing rushed about the workout. The tempo is fairly steady. I like this one. Workout 1 (Cardio). I kind o...

Kelly Coffey Meyer 30MTF Bonus Stretch - Thoughts

Image
On the 30 Minutes to Fitness Bootcamp DVD, is a Bonus Stretch segment. This is a review of that. Kelly also includes this as one of her premixes on the disc. If you do the premix version, called Stretch Session, you get the warm up along with the bonus stretch. This premix is 22 minutes. I did this stretch after a treadmill run, so I didn't do the premix version. The bonus stretch section by itself if approximately 18 minutes. This stretch is more lower body than upper body stretching. It reminded me of old-school stretching. The kind of stretching I did in PE class in high school. Because the emphasis is more on the lower body, I found it excellent to do after my run. Kelly starts with standing stretches and then moves to the floor for lying and seated stretching. Kelly uses a towel on several of the exercise to get a deeper stretch. She does what she calls "ballistic" stretching, (I call it pulsing) but she gives you the option not to do it and just t...

Kelly Coffey Meyer Split Sessions - Thoughts

Image
Okay. I am going to brag a bit here. Last year, Kelly ask for ideas for her next group of workouts and I came up with the idea that she used for Split Sessions . Here was my idea: " 30 Minutes To Fitness - Split Workout 1 - warm up, heavy weight work for the upper body that includes all 5 muscle groups and a cool down. Workout 2 - warmup, heavy weight workout for the lower body to include calf work and a cooldown. Bonus workout - 10 to 15 minute stretch workout This workout would be more strength base than endurance" So I was really looking forward to this workout and how it would turn out with Kelly's interpretation. I have to say I am very happy. 30 Minutes To Fitness Split Sessions menu options are: Introduction Warm-up Workout # 1 (Upper Body) Workout # 2 (Lower Body) Bonus Floor Work Premixes - There are seven. Credits and Music on/off option I did both Workout 1 and Workout 2 as independent workouts across two days. Of the two, my favorite is Session 1 Upper Body. ...

November 2010 Rotation

Image
2010 is flying by. I have one more workout schedule for this month (Kelly Coffey Meyer's Circuit Burn) which I will do tomorrow. Then, I will be off to Denver for the weekend. I built November's rotation around Turbo Fire and Cathe newest four workouts. Now, I know I am going out on a limb to schedule the Cathe workouts in before I have them. In fact, I moved the workouts as close down towards the end of the month as I could. Hopefully this delay won't be long and I will get the workouts in as scheduled. I am also having to work around having family come in for the holidays. So the break down is: Sunday: Cathe Interval Training. It has been ages since I have done any of the IMAX workouts. Monday : New sculpting workouts. Every workout listed for Monday will be my first time doing that workout. I have had Kettlebell Boot Camp for quite sometime and I am just now getting it in, but that is mostly because I am not a huge Kettlebell fan. Tuesday : Turbo Fire Fire workouts. Thi...

Kelly Coffey Meyer LIFT Powersculpt - Thoughts

Image
Powersculpt is the second workout on Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 Minutes To Fitness LIFT workout. After the warm up, it is a non stop 30 minute sculpting workout using dumbbells. Kelly moves from exercise to exercise with precision and efficiency. In the introduction, she jokes (well she wasn't joking) "if you want a break, you will have to pause the remote" and you do. There might have been a brief reprieve as she went to change out weights but the changing out of weights was not done often and when it was done, it was quick. All of the moves were compound in nature and Kelly used the layer approach technique where she started with one move and then added another and sometimes another. So many of the exercises had up to 3 components. Kelly would do an exercise and then she would move on to what she called a "transition move" and then she would repeat the original exercise. That was the pattern for the whole workout. So some exercises you do twice and some only...

Kelly Coffey Meyer Circuit Burn - Thoughts

Image
Somewhere, probably in a video, I heard Kelly say "be a participant not a spectator". This quote comes to mind because when I got this workout and was previewing it, I did not think I was going to like it as much as I thought I would when I bought it. After doing the workout - 30 Minutes to Fitness Circuit Burn, I love it. The workout comes with two 30 minute workouts. And I am happy to report they are very close to being 30 minutes - maybe 2 or 3 minute past. I mentioned this because in Kelly's last group of workouts, a couple of the workouts well exceeded the 30 minute time frame. It is not a big deal in and of itself - just a pet peeve of mine - if you are going to mention time in the title, the workout should closely reflect that time. And these do, so back to the workouts. I did both workouts back to back and as I move forward, I will most likely continue to do both (time permitting) because both workouts really do compliment each other and it makes ...

30 Minutes To Fitness Muscle Definition Workout 1 - Review

Image
This review is of Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 Minutes To Fitness Muscle Definition Workout 1 only. The last time I did this workout, I did one of the full body pre-mixes and while I like the workout, I felt the pre-mix was disjointed. In workout 1, which clocks in at 41 minutes and NOT 30 minutes, Kelly takes you through several compound joint exercises where all the major muscle groups of the upper and lower body are worked. There were a couple of exercises that even worked the core. After the warm up, Kelly started with shoulders, she then inserted a leg exercise, next came biceps, and then a bicep leg exercise. After biceps, Kelly worked your back. In the back exercise, Kelly has you doing this one arm row catch type of move. I did one set with Kelly. Then I started following Lauren (the modifier) for the next set of these. During the third set, I modified once again, this time doing just a traditional 1 arm row. Something about this exercise, just wasn't clicking with me...

Kelly Coffey Meyer 30MTF Weights - Review

Image
30 Minutes to Fitness Weights is not just one of my favorite KCM workouts, it is one of my favorite weight workouts. I will say this is a workout that I didn't click with the first time I did it, which has been well over a year ago now. When I was doing it this time, I couldn't remember what I didn't like about it. The DVD consist of a warm up, two weight routines and an abdominal section and there is a premix sections. The first weight routine is chest, legs, and back. The second weight routine is biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Both workouts featured three rounds or circuits of exercises done two times through. In many cases the exercises were synchronized to the beat of the music which I loved. Kelly is awesome in her cuing and her motivation. 5 out of 5 stars

Kelly Coffey-Meyer 30MTF Body Training - Review

Image
Not a bad workout. 30 Minute to Fitness Body Training features two workouts - one standing and the other workout - floor based. The standing workout is really a lower body workout. The only muscle group of the upper body that really gets any work is your heart and that is because many of the lower body moves has a cardio base element. There were several of the exercises that I felt my heart rate increase. The floor portion of Body Training does not have its own warm up. You go right into leg extension triceps push ups. In my case, it wasn't a big deal because I did both workouts back to back, but still I find it nice when the 30MTF workouts are self-contain (you don't have to add to it). The floor workout contain a mix of upper and lower body exercises, plus some core work. I actually found the floor workout more challenging than the standing workout. And there are no complaints in the music department with this workout. 3 1/2 out of 5 stars
