Jessica Smith 5 Mix & Match Miles - Thoughts

One of the newest Walk On workouts by Jessica Smith is 5 Mix & Match Miles.  The miles are : Mile 1: Energy Boost - 16:31 Mile 2: Pumped Up Pace - 14:28 Mile 3: Brain Training - 15:58 Mile 4: Waistline Work - 16:05 Mile 5:  Jog and Jive - 14:42 There is a warm up and cool down (both clock in at 5:53) and a count down timer that appears for each of the miles. The DVD offers the following menu options : 1.  5 Mix and Match Miles . Here you can select miles individually. 2.  Premixes - There are three premixes.      Premix #1 : 2 Quick Miles consist of the warm up,  Pumped up pace,  Jog & Jive and the cool down.  This workout clocks in at 41:42      Premix #2 : 3-Mile Power Walk .  The segments include warm up, energy boost, brain training,       waistline work, and cool down.  Premix #2 clocks in at 1:00:55.      Premix #3 :  4 Mega Miles includes the warm up, energy boost, pumped up pace, jog & jive, waistline work and cool down.  1:14:06 is the run time o

Amy Bento Ross Steplectic - Review

Amy Bento Ross's Steplectic is an athletic step DVD that contains two workouts.  Workout one, Amy labels as intermediate and workout two, she labels as advanced. The DVD menu is as follows Intro Play All Chapters Premixes       Mash Up Mix 1 (80 min)       Mash Up Mix 2 (71 min) Credits Workout 1 is around 51 minutes in length and features a warm up, 4 combos and a cool down.  The warm up is around 8 minutes and the cool down is around 3 minutes. In the main part of the workout, Amy teaches Combo 1 and 2. She then combines combos 1 and 2.  She teaches combos 3 and 4 and then she combines 3 & 4 before moving into the cool down. These are athletic step workouts. Amy cuing technique is that she throws it out there. So you get large chunks of choreography at once. Essentrics The Ultimate Stretch Workouts Disc 1 contains two 30-minute workouts. The first workout is Muscle Activation Workout . It  clocks in at 29:12. Activation is a slow moving workout that contains three segments: a standing segment, a floor segment and a bar segment. The standing segment included shoulder and back contractions, plies, alternating lunge side reaches, hamstrings low back bend and reaches.  The standing segment is about 10-minutes.  In most of the exercises you are lengthening and strengthening at the same time. The floor segment is the shortest segment.  It contains lying side hip reaches and leg lifts, hip socket rotations, front kicks, hip/knee blast, and groin, hip and spine stretches.  The floor segment is about 7-minutes. The last segment is the barre segment.  Sahra starts the section by working on the feet, ankles, and calves.  Also included in the segment are quad, hip and hamstring stretches.  This segment is about 13 minutes. The FIRM Sculpt-Ilates - Review

The FIRM Sculpt-ilates is a 50-minute workout and it is lead by Robyn Johnson.  The workout uses a thera-band and it  is divided into four section.  The workout starts with a slow moving warm up.  Robyn then moves into a standing Pilates segment without the band. In the standing segment, in addition to sculpting, there is balance work. Some of the  standing Pilates move include saw, spine twist, and mermaid. 12 minutes into the workout, Robyn moves into the band sculpt segment.This segment starts with a series of alternating plie work.  Standing exercises that use the band include heel press shoulder press, dip curl tap backs, shave the head, upright row and double arm rows.  This segment also included walkout push ups. The next segment is mat work. This segment uses the band and a mat.  Seated double arm rows, roll backs with arm press outs, seated shoulder press, and a side plank series are a few of the exercises in the mat segment.  This segment starts at about the 20 min

March 2017 Monthly Rotation

March 2017 Monthly Rotation I will be doing a combination of The FIRM and Michelle Dozois with a little bit of Amy Bento Ross thrown in. I may try to stick in some more Jessica Smith workouts as well as I have a few new ones that I have yet to do. The FIRM workouts are the Pink FIRMs, Zip Trainer workouts and FIRM Express Workouts. Oh I am also planning to do a couple of Essentric workouts on Saturday as Active Recovery. For Michelle, I will be doing her Pure Strength and Pure Cardio workouts.
