Suzanne Bowen BarreAmped Cardio Fat Burn - Thoughts

The third workout in Suzanne Bowen's BarreAmped series is BarreAmped Cardio Fat Burn .  This workout mixes tabata style drills with barre work for a cardio barre interval workout. There is a beginner modifier and and advance modifier. Suzanne is normally performing the intermediate level.If you follow Suzanne or the advance modifier, you will be performing higher impact and higher intensity style moves as they do quite a bit of jumping.  The ladies also work at a different pace from each other.  Suzanne calls it a freestyle workout. The DVD Menu Intro Warm Up Extreme Cardio Fat Burn Cardio Sculpt Cardio Core Cool down Stretch Extreme Cardio Fat Burn is your interval tabata workout. It clocks in at 26 minutes. You are doing moves like skiers, plie jacks, mount climbers and hops.  You are doing these moves for several sets before you move on to the next grouping of exercises. The second DVD in Suzanne Bowen's BarreAmped series is BarreAmped Boot Camp.   The workout is very similar to BarreAmped with the difference being that Suzanne includes low impact cardio moves in some of the segments. There is a beginner and an advance modifier in all the segments except for the stretch segment.  Within each of  the segments Suzanne does perform brief stretching after working a major muscle group or after a particular series of moves.  The equipment list include a light pair of dumbbells, a chair and a mat. BarreAmped is the first workout is Suzanne's BarreAmped series.  The workout clocks in at 74 minutes if you do the whole workout. I did not do the whole workout at once. Instead, I did the individual segments as either an add-on or standalone workout. The segments are: Warm Up - 3 min Light Weight Work - 9 min Thigh Work - 14 min Seat Work - 19 min Mat Work - 16 min Stretch - 13 min, The thigh work, seat work, and stretch segments all used a chair.  In thigh work, you are performing the moves standing. In the seat work segment, you start off  with standing moves and then move to floor based moves. The light weight work segment uses a pair of dumbbells and is upper body work. Suzanne recommended 1 to 5 lbs. The Mat  work segment was mostly upper body but using your body weight as resistance.  There is some core focus exercises in the mat segment as well. The music is background. Actually I don't remember the music at all.  The set is big and bright with wood tone

March 2020 - Monthly Rotation

March 2020  I had fun with last month's rotation of FIRM strength and Amy Bento Cardio.  I was able to get in Essentrics' new workout as well.  I did not end up doing the iFIT walking workouts (decided I needed a day of rest) but I did do the Cardio Coach workouts which I really enjoyed. This month I am doing treadmill workouts and Suzanne Bowen's BarreAmped workouts. I may or may not try to get in Tracie Long's two new ones.
