There are two workouts on Step360 Lose A Jean Size By The Weekend workout DVD. Your trainer for the workouts is Jessie Pavelka.  Along with Jessie, there is Catherine Chiarelli, Madison Chase, and Teri Ann Krefting who are all fitness models that have appeared in other Gaiam workouts. In each workout there is always a modifier.  Jessie instructs the workout as the ladies perform the move. The workouts are short. Both clock in at 10 minutes and there is a warm up and cool down for each workout.  Jessie offer tips as he takes you through the various moves.  Most of the exercises you are doing for 60 seconds with a 30 second break. GAIAM Step 360 Workout System - Introduction

Image
Step360 Workout System . Saw this on sale and picked it up.  This system actually came out a few years ago but I always thought it was too expensive for what you get. So what do you get? You get the Step360 platform that arrives deflated; an inflation tool that was pretty easy to use, a resistance cord to use during strength segments, two guide books (more on those in a moment, and two workout DVDs. The thing that you didn't get but it shown in the workouts as well as in one of the guide books was a black circular mat to set your Step360 on. The system comes with two guides. One is the Weight Loss success guide.  It is a 39 page booklet. The booklet introduces you to Jessie Pavelka who is the fitness trainer for the Step360.  The guide also talks about the workouts and gives you a 30 day calendar routine.  There is a meal plan included plus a before and after section where you can take your measurements and pictures. The other guide is titled "Lose ...

Madeleine Lewis AM & PM Stretch DVD - Thoughts

Image
AM & PM Stretch contains two 30 minute workouts and both workouts are led by Madeleine Lewis. AM Stretch starts in the seated position with c curve stretching. Madeleine has you lie back for a series of knee pulls. The workout contains quite a bit of dynamic stretching. For each stretch, you will do a series of dynamic stretches (around 6 to 8 reps) and then you will hold the stretch in a static position. Madeleine also include joint mobility moves that work the ankles, low back, outer hip and shoulder. While most of the stretches are done in the supine position, Madeleine does include lying side stretches, stretches on all fours,  variations on the downward dog.  and standing stretches. The music is just absolutely blah. I know it is probably meant to be soothing but it was soothing enough to put you to sleep. Besides the music, I liked this workout.  It felt great after a 4 mile treadmill run. PM Stretch start with standing stretches and vigorous arm (a...

Gaiam Daily Stretch Conditioning - Review

Image
This Daily Stretch Conditioning DVD contains two 20 minutes workouts. Madeleine Lewis is your instructor. The first workout is Daily Stretch. This workout starts out with a series of standing stretches that included a bit of balance work. The next part of the workout consisted of kneeling work mostly on all floors.  This section too included balance work by working opposite limbs. Madeleine then takes you through a series of seated twisting stretches and this is followed by lying floor stretches for the hamstring. The music is blah. The set is an outdoor setting - filmed near a lake or a river.  A mat is required. I like this stretch workout. The second workout is Stretch Conditioning .  This workout is also filmed outdoors but the setting is different. This workout requires a prop which looks like a foam roller sliced in half. You can use a towel or blanket as a substitution.  This workout also requires a Yoga Strap. This workout starts from the lying po...

Gwen Lawrence Fit Body Yoga - Thoughts

Image
Fit Body Yoga is a Giaim workout that is led by Gwen Lawrence. It features three 20-minute workouts. Workout 1 focuses on the Upper Body and it is called Upper Body Blast .  Most upper body yoga workouts contains lots of shoulder work and this is no different. The second workout is called Lower Body Tone . This was my favorite of the three workouts because I really felt stretch out in the hips and thighs after this workout. The third workout is named Core Definition.   Along with ab work, there is work for the back.  Also the length of this workout is actually 17 minutes and not 20. For the most part, throughout the workout, you are doing each sequence twice per side.  The first time through, the sequence is performed at a slower pace and then the second time through, the pace sped up just a little bit. Every one in awhile Gwen would deviate from this pattern, which was annoying because I thought I knew what was coming next and I turned out to be wrong. T...
