Cathe FitTower Advanced Boot Camp - Thoughts

Image
FitTower Advanced Boot Camp is a 49 minute workout. This workout follows a similar pattern in Cathe's other boot camp style workouts in that you work in rounds. Each round includes four to five exercises with a particular emphasis.  In this boot camp workout, the exercise groups are: power cardio cardio legs targeted muscle group 2nd and/or 3rd exercise targeting a  muscle group There are a total of six rounds plus the warm up and cool down. You are typically running through several sets and many reps of the particular exercise as you change leads and work around the FitTower barre. Depending on the exercise, Cathe will have you raise or lower the exercise barre. Along with the FitTower, Cathe also use a stretch band, a band loop, and a mat.  Cathe shows you modifications throughout the workout for certain exercise.  Of the three new FitTower Advanced workouts, this is the only workout I thought truly advanced but I think that is because this is the worko...

Jari Love Get Extremely Ripped! BootCamp

Image
A few months ago, a friend of mine gave me about 6, maybe 7 Jari's Love workouts. At one time, I did own a few of Jari's first group of workouts but when I was scaling back my workout collection, she went by the wayside. Clips of her newer workouts never appeal to me so I would always bypass them. When I received the workouts from my friend, I did preview them and I thought many of them look much better than how they came across in the clip. So four months later, I am adding some of them into the rotation. Starting with Get Extremely Ripped! Boot Camp - this is about a 75 minutes long workout if you do the entire workout. I did the whole workout. You can also break the workout into two 30-minute workouts or six 10 minute workouts. Along with a warm up and cool down, there are six rounds and each of the rounds contains some type of core work, strength work, and cardio work. Before each exercise, Jari offers a Ripped! Tip about that exercise. The tip is usually some typ...

Amy Bento A-Team Boot Camp - Thoughts

Image
A-Team Boot Camp is a 60 minute plus circuit style workout. It consist of 6 circuits or drills as Amy calls them. Each drill is broken down into 4 parts that include 2 minutes of cardio, 1 minute of lower body, 1 minute of upper body and 1 minute of core. The 2 minutes of cardio in some of the drills is very very long. That is because in some of the drills, you are doing the same move for the whole two minute. Over kill. I actually got bored a couple of times wondering when this was going to be over. A couple of the cardio drills do have more variety and thus were more fun to do. The rest of the workout uses a lot of equipment. Weights (dumbbells and barbell), stability ball, tubing and the step bench are all used to added intensity to the lower body, upper body and core exercises. During the lower body sets, where you work each leg separately, the minute is further broken down to doing 30 seconds on each leg. Amy does give you a lot of rest between each drill and a couple of ...

Cathe Intensity BootCamp - Review

Image
BootCamp from Cathe's Intensity series is a 60 minute circuit style workout. It consist of 8 circuits. Each circuit contains a minute each of cardio, lower body, upper body and core. This is the workout that gives us Cathe's famous saying that "You can do anything for a minute." The problem with that is that during some of the cardio segments that minute gets extremely long. I was very winded doing this workout. In the cardio segments you will do sumo squats, jacks, mountain climbers, kickbox, squat thrust ice breakers, speed skaters, and so on. Some of the exercises in the lower body portion of the workout are squats, plie squats, leg press, static lunge etc. The upper body muscle groups worked are back, chest, bicep, and triceps. You use a variety of equipment in the workout to include the high step, med ball, dumbbells and a barbell. While I like this workout a lot, I can't say it is my favorite of my circuit workouts. The music is okay, the set is busy, ...

Cathe 4 Day Split Cardio & Weights - Review

Image
This week I decided to do Cathe 4 Day Split Cardio & Weights series as it was designed. I rarely used this workout in that form mostly because I don't like working out in "parts". However, this workout is design to be a heavy lifting workout and so therefore "parts" is the way to go. Tuesday's Workout - Higher Intensity Step plus heavy weights Back and Chest - 59 Wednesday's Workout - Lower Intensity Step plus heavy weights Shoulders, Calves, & Core - 66 Thursday's Workout - Boot Camp plus heavy weights Biceps & Triceps - 62 Friday's Workout - Kick box plus heavy weights Leg & Core - 71 Each workout is broken up into two parts. The first part is cardio and the second part is weights or sculpting/toning work. I really love the cardio in all 4 videos. The step combinations used in both videos are fun to do. Out of the two step workouts, Higher Intensity Step is my favorite. I think that is because I like the blast portion ...
