Kelly Coffey Meyer Trim Down - Thoughts

Kelly's latest 30 Minutes To Fitness workout is Trim Down.  Trim Down contains two workouts and each is a combination of boxing drills and dumbbell exercises.  It alternates dumbbell exercises with cardio boxing drills.
The DVD menu gives you the following options:
Introduction
Workout One
Workout Two
Premixes
Credits
There is also a music on/off option

Workouts One and Two share the warm up, but they each have their own cool down.    I created a worksheet only for the dumbbell exercises.

This workout has the following premixes:

Boxing Drills - Both Workouts 31
Weight Work Drills - Both Workouts 29
Combined Workouts 54
Kelly's Favorite Mix 20
Mixed Trim Down #1 30
Mixed Trim Down #2 32

I have done two of the premixes which are the Boxing Drills @ 31 minutes and the Combine workouts @57 minutes.  The DVD states the Combine Premix is only 54 minutes but it is really 57 minutes.

I like doing the combine workout premix more than I like doing just the boxing drills premix.  If fact, I like the format quite a lot as a combine workout alternating the dumbbells exercises with the boxing drills. For both groups of workout, you are doing each set of exercises for about a minute.  The music cues up and goes to the end of the minute. Then the music fades out during the transition and comes back in as you start the next exercise.

What I really like is that Kelly varied each of the sets so you were doing something a little different each time through the minute.  The only time you could argue that she didn't do this is when she worked one side and then repeated the combination on the other side.  I really like that it was not  a constant repeat of exercises set after set after set.  It can get really repetitive and sometimes boring when you talk about doing an exercise for a full minute or worse two minutes.  So good job to her on how she varied the moves from one set to the next.

I like this one.  4 & 1/4 stars
