Jessica Smith Feel Good Fusion - Thoughts

Image
Jessica Smith's Feel Good Fusion is a combination of cardio, strength, Pilates, barre and yoga fitness styles.  This DVD contains two workouts. The first workout is Fusion Strength and it is 47 minutes in length. Fusion Strength is a high rep workout that uses a light set of dumbbells. Jessica states the goal is to build strength without force.  Most of the moves in this workout requires big movements - reaching movements that aid in building endurance. For most of the workout it seems as if  you were doing some type or form of a squat whether single leg or double leg.  After the weight work, Jessica takes you through a standing abs, balance and coordination segment. The workout concludes with a stretch. The second workout is Flow Cardio . This workout clocks in at 35 minutes and does not use weights.  Flow Cardio is a lower intensity steady state cardio workout. Jessica uses big range-of-motion leg-based movement in this workout. The moves flow from one ...

Jessica Smith Total Body Tune Up - Thoughts

Image
Total Body Tune Up clocks in at just under an hour.  It is a high rep workout with the primary emphasis on sculpting.  Jessica uses a pair of light hand weights.  I think hers are 5lbs.  In many of the exercise sets you are doing 24 reps per side. The workout is roughly grouped into six rounds. With the exception of the last round, each of the rounds end with a series of cardio moves. The last round is focus on the core in the form of plank work and then you go into a superset for the abdominals. Most of the exercises are compound in nature. You are simultaneously working the lower and upper body together.  There is some functional fitness as well. I certainly felt this workout.  I did this workout on  Wednesday and today is Friday and I am feeling the DOMS from the sculpting sets. Love the soundtrack in this one.  This is a download workout and like the previous 10 Pounds Down workout I did last week, at approximately 10 minute intervals...

Jari Love Get Ripped & Chiseled - Thoughts

Image
Get Ripped and Chiseled is a 64 minute high rep body sculpting workout. It is set up similar to Slim & Lean in that each exercise is preceded by a brief introduction. The individual introductions demonstrates the exercise you will be performing. Also it tells you the weight amount of each of the participants as well as how many reps you will perform if you do the whole track. Along with Jari, there are three other cast members who show variations/modifications of each of the exercises. Within each exercise performed, Jari alters the count of the exercise. Some of the patterns used are 4/4 2/2/ 3/1, single count and pulses. Many of the exercises featured lots of pulses. The warm up is done using a set of dumbbells. During the warm up, Jari takes you through a series of exercise that show up again as you move through the main part of the workout. During the stretch/cool down section, Jari sits in a semi-circle and she and the cast discuss their achievements in fitness. Equipment...
