The FIRM ZipTrainer FIRM & Cardio Lower Body - Review

FIRM & Cardio Lower Body is one of the DVDs that come with the Ultimate Set of The FIRM's ZipTrainer System.
It is lead by Allie Del Rio.  Emily and Alison are the cast members. Alison is performing beginner modifications.
You can do this DVD, one of three ways.  If you choose Play All, you will get both the cardio which is about 12 minutes and the lower body sculpting which is about 12 minutes plus a warm up and cool down.  This workout is about 30 minutes.

You can also choose just to do the cardio or just to do the lower body sculpting set. If you choose either of these options, your workout will be about 18 minutes which includes the warm up and cool down.

The Cardio Workout uses the ZipTrainer and Core Ball for added intensity. There are three cardio segments and two of the segments contain total body 4 limb movement so you are working both your upper body and lower body.
In this workout, Allie and Emily mostly use the 7lb core ball and Alison uses the 3lb.  I used the 7lb and that 7lb ball felt heavy on some of these moves.
However, when I picked up the 3lb Core ball, that almost felt too light.
After each cardio segment, there is an SBT (Short Burst Training) which is 30 seconds of intensity followed by 30 seconds of recovery.
The Lower Body workout contains three segments of sculpting workout followed by an SBT.  The Lower Body Workout uses the ZipTrainer, Core Ball and a set of weights.  In the first segment, you are alternating from one leg to the next.  In the second segment you are working the right leg and in the third segment you are working the left leg.
I thought the music in this workout really good. It was up tempo and had a really nice beat and for the most part Allie stayed on beat during all the exercises including some of the SBTs.
While I felt there was a little too much upper body in the cardio portion of the workout, I really did like the overall flow of the whole workout.
This is one of my favorite of the ZipTrainer workouts.
4 & 1/4 stars
