The FIRM Zip Trainer Cycle 1 Rev! - Review Continues

 ZipTrainer by The FIRM Cycle 1 Rev! comes with four workouts.
This is a review of Sculpt 1 and Amp Reps 1.

REV Sculpt 1 is led by Stephanie Huckabee.  Along with Stephanie, are Annie and Alison. Alison is performing modifications.
Including the warm up and stretch, the workout is about 20 minutes. The main workout, however, is just 15 minutes.  Twice within the span of 30 seconds, Stephanie tells us "we only have 15 minutes". I remember thinking, "I hope she is not going to keep saying this for the whole workout."  Thankfully she did not.

So the main workout includes 4 short burst training (SBT) that are 30 seconds in length.  Along with using the ZipTrainer and core ball, this workout also uses a set of light/medium and heavy dumbbells.  

The exercises are performed at a steady (non-fast) tempo. The music seemed faster than the tempo in which Stephanie was performing each exercise.  The exercises did move from one to the next. The only break really came after an SBT.  The ending stretch was super quick. I felt, Stephanie move through the stretches way too fast.  This workout was okay.  3 stars
REV Amps Reps 1.  Amp stands for As Many Possible.  You are suppose to do as many reps as you can of each exercise during a 60 second period.  When I was doing this workout, I forgot I should be counting the reps.  You are moving so fast that you forget.
Amp Reps 1 is definitely the toughest of the 3 workouts. You are doing a lot of reps and that minute gets long. I felt myself slowing down at the end of each the minute cycles.  You get 30 seconds rest. This 30 seconds is used to recover and to set up for the next exercise. 
I included a table of the exercises. The only thing I would note is the first and third exercise.  You are pretty much working the same muscle groups. The first exercise leads right and the third leads left.  In the first you are flying the ball laterally and in the third, you are flying the ball vertically. You are working the rear shoulders in both.
I liked the concept of this workout. I didn't necessarily like the exercises chosen.

Emily Welsh leads this workout.   Alison and Allie are the cast members and Allie performs modifications.  Including the warm up and the stretch, the workout is about 20 minutes.

Also  and I probably should have mentioned this before, the DVD is customizable.  You can create your own workout.  You can choose a warm up, any or all of the three workouts (not Jump Start) in whatever order you want, and you can choose a cool down.  This allows you to create longer workouts.
