The FIRM ZipTrainer Cycle 1 REV! - Thoughts

Cycle 1 Rev! is the first DVD in the FIRM's ZipTrainer System.
This DVD comes with four workouts.
The workouts are Jump Start (I did not do this workout but I did preview it), Cardio 1, Sculpt 1, and Amp Reps 1.

Jump Start introduces you to the exercise moves that will appear in the other workouts.  This workout is led by Emily.  She is the only cast member.  Emily takes you through a series of 8 moves without the use of the Zip Trainer or core ball.  So your are pretending or imaging that you are working with the core ball or zip trainer.  Also Emily introduces you to Short Burst Training (I am abbreviating this as SBT).  In this workout, the SBTs are 30 seconds.  This workout is about 15 minutes.

Rev Cardio 1 is led by Allie.  The other cast members are Kelsie and Emily.  Emily does the modifications.  In this workout, Allie includes 4 - Short Burst Training that are 30 seconds each.  Including the warm up and stretch, the workout is about 21 minutes.
Allie starts the workout with the Zip Trainer, is the fully zipped position.  The workout is typical FIRM cardio in that you have step cardio (using the domes), 4-limb cardio (using the core ball and zip trainer) and floor aerobics. There are four segments with each segment concluding with a 30 second SBT.

The first segment include step cardio using the zip trainer in the dome positions.  Mambo cha chas, step kicks, and plyos are featured in this segment.  The SBT is 8 toe taps and two plyos holding the core ball.

The next segment is 4-limb cardio using the core ball.  Grapevines, side lunges with row, abductions and bicep curls all appear in this segment.  Allie layers on as she moves through the combo.  The SBT in this combo is wide tap skaters using the core ball.

The third segment is floor aerobics.  This segment annoyed me because the volume of the music took a serious dive. It was super low and it cause the energy of the workout to drop.  This segment concluded with work using the ZipTrainer in the full Zip position and then Allie immediately takes you into another 30 second SBT which is a squat jump into 4 knees with the ZipTrainer.

The last segment was back to 4-limb cardio but this time using the ZipTrainer.   Side to side hops with biceps curls and ball toss, scissor legs side, and ball chest press are some of the exercises that appear in this segment.  The SBT is a triple run rolling the Zip Trainer from side to side.

The music is high tempo with a techno vibe. With the exception of the music volume taking a dive in the third  segment, I like this workout.
