Tracey Staehle Steady State Step - Thougths

Steady State Step is a great step workout but the editing is bad. And unfortunately it takes away from the workout.
I have had this workout for some time and did it once before maybe even twice. And then I remember, oh this is the workout that has the bad editing.
The problem is the editing is worse where transition to a new move occurs. Sometime it feels like a small, maybe 2 seconds had been edited out here and there and then you are all off count. Also there are extreme close up of the cast members for long periods of time so you have no idea of what they are performing.

I did manage to get through the whole workout. There were a couple of places I was marching in place. This not only had to do with the editing but Tracey (the lead) cuing as well. There were two other cast members and sometimes they would just stop in the middle of the combo because they were lost. So even if I wasn't lost, I became lost if I happen to be focus on them. Even once Tracey stops briefly or looses her place briefly where she was in the workout. I don't expect perfection, well at least not how I used to, but even I was like come on. So, there is a lot that is off about this workout.

The part that is on, though, is quite good. A lot of the combos are fun and when the editing doesn't interfere, they are fairly easy to pick up.
The DVD is chaptered as follows:
warm up
combo 1 (1/2 reverse turn mombo)
combo 2 (kick 1/2 way around the world)
combo 3 (quick over the top)
combo 4 (combos 2-4)
combo 5 (mombo pony)
combo 6 (2 stomps & a hop)
combo 1 -6
combo 7 - 2 knee repeater box step
combo 8 - tap step rock back
combo 9 - Tracey's Solo
cool down - Tracey also leads this by herself and this part is without the step

In between combo 8 and 9, Tracey takes it from the top and runs through all 8 mini combos. Also anytime Tracey took it from the top, she splice the combos together. By this I mean she didn't go through the combo how she taught them first the left and the right side. Instead she started with combo 1 on right, combo 2 on left, combo three on right etc. Then she go back and start the series again with the other side leading first.

The DVD does contain premixes. They are:
Short Step (22:09)
Dance Step (38:46)
Power Step (27:51)

3 stars. This rating would be a lot higher if it wasn't for the not so great editing. I thought about going lower but I really do like the choreography and music and most of the combos.
