Pump It Up! Hi Energy - Thoughts

Pump It Up Hi Energy is just over 60 minute long and it features Fiona Fagan as the lead.
The sections of the workout are:
Warm It Up
Burn It Up
Dance It Up
Tone It Up
Cool It Down

While I think Fiona did a much better job cuing Hi Energy, than she did with Beach Body, she still could use some improvement in this area. I say that because even the cast members were not always with her, or only half the crew would be with her. Fiona does use the technique where she will have you hold the current move, while she shows you what is coming next. And then you join her on the next iteration of the move. And that was fine. I didn't mind her cuing the workout like this at all.

But other than the cuing. I really like this workout. Once again, the music is by Ministry of Sound and the soundtrack has lots of energy. In this workout, unlike the previous two Pump It Up workouts I have done thus far, the moves kept up with or match the music. I also didn't feel the workout overly repetitious. There is some repetition but because Fiona is layering as she goes. it doesn't get boring.

Burn It Up section contains more athletic type moves combine with basic dance steps. There are two blocks of choreography that Fiona teaches and then mixes it up with energy burst/intensity throughout this section of the workout. This section is about 18 minutes.
Dance It up section is really "dancey". The moves are funky and have attitude. They also come at you fast and they're a bit complex. On some moves, Fiona does offer an easier alternative to some of the more complex moves. This was my favorite section of the workout because you really feel like you are dancing. This section is about 19 minutes.
Tone It Up section contains squats, lunges, bridge work and crunches. You use your own body weight during this section. This section is 11 minutes.

Like the other Pump It Up! workouts there are tons of extras on the DVD.
Some of them are:
Create Your Own Workout
Music Videos
Behind the Scenes
Music Voice Options

I really like this one. Fun. Fun. 4 & 1/4 stars
