DanceFit Latin & Retro Mix - Thoughts

I snuck in an evening workout yesterday. DanceFit Cardio Latin & Retro Mix is approximately 42 minutes in length and features Tracey Mallet as the lead.
Tracey leads the workout and cool down. The warm up is led by Cal Pozo.
The back of the DVD cover states that he is an award winning dancer. I have heard of him before. He is heavily involved with Ballroom Dancing.
So after the warm up, Latin & Retro Mix is broken up into three dance routines. The first is Salsa Sizzle, the second is Swing and Hustle Mix, and the third is Retro and Disco Mix.
In Salsa Sizzle, you are doing the merengue, salsa, samba and a little Pose Doble.
The Swing and Hustle Mix is my favorite of the three routines. I just really like the way the combination comes together.
The Retro and Disco Mix include the "funky chicken", "the bump" and "80's jazz".
Tracey is full of energy and she cues very well. What I like about this workout is the way she layered the routines. Tracey would teach an element, then she would perform the element and the next time through she would add another element (teach it, perform it) and then move on to add another element.
So there is not this constant repeating of the same move over and over before you move on.
Each time through, you are doing something new until you got to the end of the combination and then you would repeat the whole routine for 3 to 4 passes and then move on to next combination.
The music is just so so. For a dance workout, I didn't think it great.
The camera angles. I know I gripe about this a lot. I just don't get, how you can cut off the feet (continuously) in a dance workout. Many times you couldn't see the floor, so you couldn't see the feet. They had several knee and above shots.
In a workout video, when in doubt, just leave the camera so it is capturing the full body of the instructor/cast.
This is a decent workout and some of the moves are quite fun.
3 stars.
