Jessica Smith Build Balance + Inner Strength - Review

Build Balance + Inner Strength is part of Jessica Smith's Walk Strong series.  This DVD comes with three fusion style 30 minute plus workouts.  The fusion style is a mixture of pilates, dance, yoga and light sculpting.  Jessica performs all workouts shoeless. Along with Jessica, the other cast member is Jessica's mom Debbie. Debbie is the modifier.  There is a countdown clock in each workout.

The first workout is Core Control. This workout clocks in at 31:18. In this workout you are moving to music. This is a body weight only workout. There are lots of arm movements as well as balance style moves.
Some of the exercises in this workout are:
ball changes chasse, switch arabesque, side steps side taps,  knee      raise, leg extensions, cross over crunches, thread the needles, and  standing 100s.
You are doing approximately 16 reps of each move.

The second workout on this DVD is Poise and Grace. It is a 35 minute workout.  After a 5 minute warm up, you pick up a set of dumbbells for a series of sculpting moves. Just as in other Jessica Smith sculpting workouts, this one is performed circuit style.  You do a series of 2 to 3 exercises and then you repeat the exercise leading with the other side.
Please see table for  list of exercises.

Balance and Agility is the third workout and it clocks in right at 30 minutes.  This workout uses a flat band.  You start with the band on the floor and you are doing a series of moves around the band, this includes an agility drill.
After working with the band as a marker, Jessica has you pick up the band for a series of sculpting moves that are performed circuit style.  With 5 minutes left in the workout, Jessica discards the band and the remaining exercises work your balance.
The attached table includes a list of exercises.

I enjoyed all the workouts. In each of the workouts, I felt I got a good workout without killing myself.
Core Control - 4 & 1/4 stars
Poise and Grace - 4 stars
Balance and Agility-  3 & 3/4 stars
