Cathe Perfect 30: Perfect HiiT - Thoughts

Perfect 30 Perfect HiiT is one of the DVDs that is part of Cathe's 2020 series.  The Perfect 30 series contains six 30-minutes workouts and several short bonus workouts.  There is also a User Guide that you download from Cathe's Website.

Perfect HiiT comes with the following workouts:

  1. High Impact HiiT
  2. Low Impact HiiT
  3. Pyramid HiiT Bonus
  4. Extended Stretch Bonus

High Impact HiiT clocks in at 30:49.  Each exercise gets repeated at least twice. Some are more.  For me, this workout had too many squat thurst/burpees.  Over half the exercises featured this move. Also I missed the timer/countdown clock. I recently did Cathe's first Hiit Workout that was part of STS Shock series and I like the timer feature and wish she had added it here.

Low Impact HiiT clocks in at 30:51.  While High HiiT featured lots of squat thrust/burpees, Low Impact HiiT featured lots of squatting type moves.  To keep the moves low impact, Cathe utilized lifting actions instead of jumping moves. Although she does tell you that "you can jump if you want to".  Each of the exercise combinations are performed at least twice often changing lead legs the second time through.  There are a few times where you perform exercises three times before moving  on.

Pyramid HiiT Bonus clocks in at 12:01, it uses a steps, and it was my favorite of the three HiiT workouts. The pyramid pattern goes like this. The first exercise is for 20 seconds and you do  two rounds. Then you move up to 25 seconds and do a different exercise for two round. Next comes 30 seconds where you do the same, repeat an exercise for two round. The top of the pyramid is 35 seconds. You only do the exercise one time through. Then, you work your way back down the pyramid; 30, 25 & 20 seconds doing a different exercise at each step for two rounds. And the countdown clock/timer shows up in this workout. When you got to 10 seconds, the timer would pop up on the screen.😀 Yep. I enjoyed this set up.

  • High Impact HiiT - 3 stars
  • Low Impact HiiT - 3 & 1/2 stars
  • Pyramid HiiT - 4 stars
