SHAPE Get Lean - Review

Get Lean by Shape contains four individual workouts that all clock in at around 22 minutes or less. The instructor for this workout is Yumi Lee.  In each workout, Yumi demonstrates levels or progressions that show how to make the workout easier or harder.

Each of the workouts features two modifiers. One modifier shows beginner moves. The other modifier is showing advance moves. Yumi is performing the intermediate moves.

The DVD offers the following options:
Program Intro - Yumi Lee
Cardio Fat- Burning
Total-Body Sculpting
Metabolism Boost

Abs Express Routine
Interview

Cardio Fat Burning clocks in at over 22 minutes.  Yumi leads you through a kickboxing combination followed by a cardio interval. Moves are perform on the right, you do a cardio interval, and then perform the moves on the left.
Yumi teaches each move in slow motion. I actually found this annoying because I thought she performed too many reps at the slow pace. Once the tempo pick up, you do perform the combinations for several reps before moving on.
The cardio intervals are a series of jumping jacks and jog/fast feet.
Sometimes the cuing did not match what was shown on camera, or more aptly put, the camera operator was not showing what Yumi was cuing.

Ab Express Routine is around 15 minutes in length.  I thought this workout could have been called Ab Stretch workout because you are doing quite a bit of stretching in between each move.
Plank holds, child pose, downward dogs, prone oblique rotations, 3 point shoulder spine stretch, and bicycles are some of the exercises that appear in this workouts.

Total-Body Sculpting or Lean Mean Strength workout uses a set of weights to sculpt the body.  This is primarily a sculpting workout that clocks in at 16:25. The exercise go from one exercise to the next without much of a break.  Please see the spreadsheet for the list of exercises.

Metabolism Boost clocks in at just over 20 minutes.  The workout contains a mixture of cardio moves and strength moves. Yumi also uses a pair of light dumbbells. Yumi teaches the exercises at various tempos. At the slower tempos, I felt out of sync.  I think this is mostly because she was not consistent with how she was teaching the various tempos. With that said, I like this workout and it was my favorite of the bunch.

This is my first time working out with Yumi; not sure if she has any other DVDs, but overall I thought she was good. Also the person on the cover is not Yumi. Shape always uses models for their DVD covers.
