Zumba Gold Live It Up - Three DVD System - Thoughts

Zumba Gold Live It Up DVD 1 - Step By Step
The Step By Step DVD has two main parts.
There is the Step By Step section of the dances that will appear in the other two DVDs.
There are dance breakdowns for:
Merengue
Salsa
Cumbia
Flamenco
This section of the DVD is lead by Joy Prouty and Beto Perez and it is almost 40 minutes in length.

The second part of the DVD is Healthy Living Tips. The segments in this section are:
Happiness Factor
Mind-Body Wellness
Nutrition
Brain Health
Enhancing Longevity.
These segments are hosted by Joy and she introduces various presenters to talk about the above topics
The Healthy Living Tips segment is over an hour in length.

Live It Up Cardio is the second DVD in the Zumba Gold System. This workout is lead by Joy Prouty and Beto Perez and it is 46 minutes in length.
This workouts starts with Safety Tips hosted by Joy.

While the warm up starts with visual cuing, the rest of the workout has live cuing.  There are no voice-overs.
This workout is design for older adults.  Therefore it moves at an almost snails pace. Okay I am exaggerating but it is quite a bit slower than traditional Zumba workouts.
The tracks are:
Dance With Me (warm/up)
Baila Asi (merengue)
Para El Rumbero (salsa)
Don't Let Me Down (swing)
Se Marcho Mi Amor (Tango)
Como Es Que Se Llama? (cumbia, bachata, reggaeton, merengue)
Flores Pa'Regar (flamenco)
Mawa Sillah (African, Arabian)
Tu Remedio (cha-cha-cha)
Aromuzak (cool down)
The third DVD in the Live It Up Zumba Gold system is Gold-Toning.  In this workout, which is 45 minutes, you use the Toning Sticks.
These are 1lb sticks. This is probably my third Zumba System that have come with toning sticks.

It would be nice if they give you the option to select the heavier (2.5lb) toning sticks with your order instead of always receiving the lighter pair of sticks.

Gold-Toning is lead by Jani Roberts and Joy Prouty. Like the cardio workout, this workout too starts with Safety Tips.
The Tracks are:
Pegadita  (techno/merengue)
Lo Que Traigo (merengue/pasodoble/cha-cha-cha)
Contigo (salsa/reggaeton)
Quedate (cumbia)
New Day (swing/big band)
Mi Vecina (cumbia/bachata/reggaeton)
Milonga For You (tango)
Lolita (rhumba/flamenco)
Move It and Shake It (caribbean/vallenato)
Un Corazon (pop version)

I was expecting the tempo of these workouts to be slow but the toning workout was even slower than I was expecting it to be.  Snails pace definitely applies to the Toning workout.
If you like Zumba but find the traditional Zumba workouts too fast and vigorous, then this set is something you should consider.  It has great music and live cuing.

Gold Cardio - 3 stars
